Kanye West recently shared the full clip from his Future Brunch event, where he also shared on him coming to peace with Drake. He touched on Larry Hoover’s story among Black journalists from various magazines such as The New York Times. Other invites were media executives from the industry. Notable speakers at the event, named “Black Future Month,” include Jason Lee of Hollywood Unlocked.
Jason Lee recently interviewed Ye back in January, where they discussed issues such as Kanye’s pending divorce and his soon-to-be ex-wife Kim’s new boyfriend. Kanye West touched on several topics, most notably on his beef with Drake. He revealed that Larry Hoover had played a significant role in bringing back the love between the two rappers.
Quick Recap of The Kanye West and Drake Beef
The ‘Kanye – Drake’ beef first debuted back in 2007. It would also span the course of fifteen years with both rappers taking shots at each other in songs. Things reached fever pitch in 2011 when Drake took a shot at both Kanye West and Jay-Z during the making of their ‘Watch The Throne’ album.
Kanye West posted a picture of him with Drake late last year, signaling the end of the year’s-long rivalry. Sources say Drake was convinced to squash the beef after being filled in on the upcoming ‘Free Larry Hoover’ concert.
What’s more, Kanye reported that Larry Hoover himself made the Colorado Prison, serving six life sentences. His crimes include conspiracy and extortion.
“Larry Hoover brought me and Drake together. That man created peace. Larry Hoover called that from the prison, and everybody was happy,” Kanye went on to add, “When people see me and Drake pull up to a basketball game with both of our sons, that’s gonna save people’s lives in the hood.”
