Kid Cudi Drops Release Date For ‘The Boy Who Flew To The Moon, Vol. 1’

Kid Cudi is ready to release a new compilation album. The rapper revealed that his new project, The Boy Who Flew to the Moon, will drop on July 8. Additionally, Cudi announced that his classic mixtape A Kid Named Cudi will land on streaming services on July 15.

Kid Cudi is expected to share the tracklist for the project ahead of its release later this week. The Cleveland native posted the official artwork for the album on July 5.

“I’m [going] for 2022 MVP,” he tweeted on July 4. “A Kid Named Cudi dropped July 17th, 2008. This official release is 2 days shy of the 14th anniversary. I am so d**n excited u all get to enjoy it again, remastered, [with] all the jams that made people fans from jump. Also, did a new intro.”

Cudi also confirmed that the mixtape will come with a vinyl release.

Kid Cudi’s Future Projects

A Kid Named Cudi originally released in 2008. The 17-track mixtape featured appearances from Wale and Chip Tha Ripper. The project also contains the Top 5 hit song “Day ‘n’ Nite”.

“Day ‘n’ Nite” is also part of the tracklist for the studio LP Man on The Moon: The End of Day. Cudder’s catalog contains other albums such as Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, Indicud, and Man on the Moon III: The Chosen.

In terms of upcoming projects, Cudi’s Entergalactic album is rumored to drop on September 30. The LP will serve as the music component for the upcoming Netflix animated series of the same name. Black-ish‘s Kenya Barris serves as an executive producer for the series.

In addition, Kid Cudi will host the Moon’s Landing Event on September 17. The lineup for the festival includes Pusha T, Playboi Carti, Chip Tha Ripper and Bone Thugs-n-Harmony. Cudi also recruited Denzel Curry, Don Toliver, 070 Shake and Strick for the “To The Moon” World Tour.
