Yesterday, May 10, Killer Mike and also some local Atlanta club owners gathered to fight the proposed Nuisance Law changes for the city. In short, these will grant the city government to close down any business they see as a “nuisance.”

Killer Mike shares concerns about the loss of business & money made from nightclubs in lower-income areas. Additionally, anyone can abuse the Nuisance Law to target black business owners.

A short clip touches on some of what Killer Mike fights against. The artist almost immediately gets straight to the point. One thing he shares is, “I don’t want us to cut off our arm when all that needs to be amputated is our pinkie.”

Atlanta’s Battle With Hip-Hop Culture

In conclusion, the city is pushing back against one of the many cultural forces it produced. Recently, Georgia charged Young Thug, Gunna & other YSL members for racketeering, murder, etc. A RICO charge usually means evidence collection began years before.

It’s sad to see these two stars go through this, but we’ll see how the case develops. Hopefully, Young Thug & his team are innocent and prove they were not involved.

What’s Next For His Career?

A month ago, Killer Mike gave insight into his new Vice TV docuseries with TMZ. The weed-related series is appropriately titled “Tumbleweeds With Killer Mike.”

The show’s concept features the veteran rapper traveling to different cities across the United States. While at each location, Killer Mike will be showcasing how marijuana has positively affected each city’s economy. Are you excited about Vice‘s new series with Killer Mike? And do you also agree with his valid stance on Atlanta’s proposed Nuisance Law changes? Read some of today’s FM Hip-Hop articles.
