Lil Baby has really made his mark in the industry, but can we say he has the right to say who the future belongs to music-wise. During an interview with Billboard, he was asked to speak on multiple topics. The one to catch media attention is the future of the rap game in a decade. Lil Baby expresses that the future emcees will consist of Roddy Rich, Da Baby, and Meg Thee Stallion. Lil Baby also puts himself with the future crew because he believes they are the future for the generation.
“So there’s gonna be four new of us 2030, the way it’s going. But the way we’ve solidified our spots, we’re here. That little crew, I think we’re the leaders of the new generation.”
Roddy Rich, Meg Thee Stallion, and Da Baby have left their mark the previous year, and it’s only the beginning. A low blow from the pandemic, artists are gearing up for the opening, and when it happens, it’ll be a never-ending celebration. Who knows if Lil Baby and the future emcees will collab down the road, but news of Lil Baby and Drake is in the air.
DeMarcus Cousins took to Twitter to share his thoughts on an unreleased Lil Baby X Drake song. Lil Baby was asked and even provoked the thought that he and Drake have tracks on the way.
“It just so happened that one of the songs I recorded was at James Harden’s studio. I ain’t delete the songs out the computer so the songs were still there. James probably got the team at the house and they just listening in the studio. So when I seen [the tweet] I was like, “Damn. How did he hear this song before?”
We can trust Cousins’ word, but with the release of Certified Loverboy Next month, maybe Lil Baby will make an appearance and share what we’ve been missing.
