The highly anticipated “7220″ album by drill rapper Lil Durk awaits his audience. The Chicago native is unique due to his raw and melodic lyricism. Lil Durk creates original music on his albums, the listeners gravitate toward it. In 2021 he released his single “Kanye Krazy,” featured on “The Voice,” which received much praise from celebrities as it pays homage to Kanye’s classics.
Surrounding the release of “7220” are rumors of Pete Davidson’s appearance on the album, Ye’s estranged wife, Kim Kardashian’s new boyfriend. The word caused Durk to take to Instagram.
“This a lie I don’t even play like that,” Durk said. “Plus Ye want to do a album together.”
Durk and Ye collaboration
The rappers worked together previously on Ye’s “Donda” album. Ye features Durk on track 7, “Jonah”. According to Lil Durk, a collaborative album between him and Ye will arrive soon. It could be impactful to both hip-hop and their hometown of Chicago, Illinois.
Lil Durk respects Ye and his artistry. The “7220” album of Lil Durk was first scheduled for release on February 22, 2022, going toe to toe with Ye’s “Donda 2” album release. However, the long-awaited “7220” is to release on March 11, 2022. Ye has yet to comment on the rumor, so it’s safe to say he and Durk look forward to future collaboration.
No mention of Pete Davidson on Lil Durk’s album
Nowadays, it’s obvious Ye is disgusted by the thought of Pete Davidson since he’s spent the last few months dragging Pete’s name through the mud on, calling him “Skete” on social media. The two, Lil Durk and Pete have never reportedly worked together on music before. Plus, his talents are not within the music industry. Therefore, rumors of Lil Durk giving SNL comedian a spot on the album sound more like fans are looking to troll.
While Pete Davidson will not be on “7220,” other artists will. So keep an eye out for that.
