The U.S. Mint is celebrating women, and rolling out a series of quarters featuring iconic females over the next four years.

The U.S. Mint will take steps in making the legacy of Writer and Activist Maya Angelou permanent. By honoring her on quarters as part of the new American Women Quarters Program.  In addition, NASA Astronaut Sally Ride will also be featured on the back of selected coins. Above all, everyone knows the importance of this honor…

In other words, we must respect it! And as a result had this to say,

“I am pleased to see that the first women to be recognized under my bill are outstanding individuals in the fields of science and literature: Dr. Sally Ride and Dr. Maya Angelou. They paved the way for many who came after them and inspired young women to carry on their legacy.” Said California Congress Woman.

In addition, The U.S. Mint is also asking the public to submit others they would like to see on the coins. And the suggestions must be women who have passed.

In conclusion, this is a stark accomplishment for Maya Angelou to add to her already decorated legacy. The rollout will begin in January 2022.
