Megan Thee Stallion is a featured pioneer on Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2020 list
Annually, Time Magzine releases a prestigious list of highly influential people that have impacted the world. Megan is one of 100 featured on the list including The Weeknd, Duo Dwayne Wade and Gabrielle Union, and NFL Quarterback Patrick Mahomes. On Tuesday, Megan took to Instagram to express her gratitude for being selected for this year’s list.
” STILL I RISE 🖤 YOUNG BLACK WOMAN FROM HUSTON TEXAS ON THE COVER OF TIME MAGAZINE AS ONE OF THE MOST INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE IN THE WORLD 🌎”, Megan said via Instagram.
Actor Taraji P. Henson took to Time to explain why Megan deserves her spot on this year’s lineup.
“I don’t like to put the stigma of the word strong on Black Women because I think it dehumanizes us, but she has strength—strength through vulnerability. She’s lost much of her family—her mother, her father, her grandmother—yet she is the epitome of tenacity, of pulling herself up by her bootstraps”, Taraji said. “I just want her to keep winning”, she added.
This year, Megan earned numerous accomplishments including her feature on Cardi B’s “WAP” spending five weeks at number one on the Billboard charts. This year, her single “Savage” also surpassed double platinum .
Megan continues to break barriers in the music industry.
