From Memphis, reports that rapper Snootie Wild has died after being shot in Houston have been confirmed. The unfortunate news that he has passed away was shared via his Instagram account on Saturday (Feb. 26). There is a picture of him with the caption:
“Gone in body, but your NAME & LEGACY will live forever! 💙 #TeamYayo4Life💯.”
According to Houston’s ABC 13, a man suffering from gunshot wounds to the neck found near an SUV in a ditch near English Street and Alice Street in Houston on Friday (Feb. 25). Authorities believe Snootie is the unidentified victim in critical condition. Investigators are reportedly in possession of video footage of the incident.
Informing Fans On Instagram About Snootie Wild’s Condition
Firstly, rumors spread that Snootie had died on Friday, which led to news that something had happened to him. Secondly, his Instagram account then issued a message informing fans that he was alive but in critical condition. “Snootie is not dead. But he’s fighting for his life,” the statement read. “Out of respect for the family, please refrain from sharing anything that is not communicated through his official accounts.”
Several hours later, fellow Memphis rapperKia Shineannounced that Snootie had been shot, updating his Instagram followers regarding his friend’s condition.” I’m praying for my #Memphis kinfolk @snootiewild He was shot in Houston in the neck and torso and is in critical condition,” he wrote.

Known for his song “Yayo,” Snootie (born LePreston Porter) became a sensation in 2013 after it became a hit. In the same year, he signed with Yo Gotti’s CMG label and released the EP, Go Mode. Moreover, “Ain’t No Stopping Me” was his last release with CMG in 2015. However, he has decreased his music production activity. In the past year, he appeared on the single “F**k Your Feelings” with Pkolo.
