There is absolutely no way to describe how heartbreaking this story is! Compassion is not something that some people have in abundance. Specific drivers leave the scene without considering the victim or their family regarding hit-and-run crimes. A 28-year-old Parkside West Philadelphia resident named Nyier “Nas” Cunningham was riding his mountain bike at about 1 a.m. on Friday. Around this time, he died in a hit-and-run accident a few blocks from his residence.
According to the police, a dark-colored, four-wheel drive pickup truck hit Cunningham near 52nd Street and Wyalusing Avenue. Currently, no information is available regarding the identity of the driver. However, the search continues.
The late Nas Cunningham was a multi-talented individual. It was not only that he was a rapper but also a beatboxer, a gifted harmonica player, and a father. Nas participated in YSI’s 12th annual My Life, My Future Teen Conference, and Rally held at Temple University’s Howard Gittis Student Center on Jun 25, 2014.

Officers and medics who responded to the scene found the victim lying on the sidewalk. His head had injuries and two legs that may have broken too.
Unfortunately, individuals in this world drive recklessly, which illustrates their irresponsibility. It is the responsibility of every driver on the road to drive carefully to avoid accidents. Never compromise your sense of safety, regardless of your level of experience.
Moreover, after going to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Nyier underwent surgery. At 4:30 a.m., he died.
Truck Located
While the police are still searching for the suspect, they discovered the truck Friday evening at Belmont Avenue and Thompson Street. Strangely enough, authorities reported that the license plate was removed from the back of the vehicle. Since the license plate hasn’t been on the car, it proves that the driver is trying to get away. It also shows he’s aware of the impropriety of what has happened. In addition, the left front headlight and left side mirror are damaged.
Furthermore, one of Cunningham’s friends spoke highly of his care for his son. “He always had his son with him. No matter when I saw him, he had his son with him, all the time,” Tamara Murphy El said. Our deepest sympathies are going to Nyier’s family and friends during this difficult time. We pray that he will rest in peace.
