At long last, it appears that Playboi Carti’s followup to 2018’s Die Lit is on its way. A little after midnight on Tuesday, Playboi Carti announced his newest album, Whole Lotta Red.First announced in 2018, the album has been beset by numerous leaks that have become events on their own for Carti’s devout fanbase. Since the release of Die Lit, Carti has featured on several projects such as Tyler the Creator’s Igor and Lil Yachty’s Lil Boat 3.5
A little after midnight on Tuesday, the album art for Whole Lotta Red was posted on both Twitter and Instagram along with links to pre-order digital copies of the album. Playboi Carti’s tweets indicate that the album is coming on Christmas, this upcoming Friday.
Earlier today Carti posted a video with Kid Cudi. In the video the two artists are dancing to “Kid Cudi” one of Carti’s most famous leaks which at one point hit number one on the Spotify charts. This is a promising sign for Carti’s fanbase, as it indicates that some of the popular leaks will be appearing on the upcoming album.
