Looks like Quavo won’t be joining Jack Harlow in this remake of a 90’s classic. See who landed the role instead!

Not quite Quavo

Fans of The Migos may be disappointed by a recent decision made by 20th-Century Studio FOX. A costar has been selected for the upcoming White Men Can’t Jump Reboot. With movie frontman Jack Harlow and Quavo recently taking home the W at a celeb all-star game, many thought he was an easy choice. Unfortunately, the Atlanta rapper will have to wait a bit longer to collab with Harlow onscreen.

The role of Sidney Deane, originally portrayed by Wesley Snipes, has been given to teen wolf star Sinqua Walls. Walls is an experienced TV and film actor with a packed resume. The 37-year-old has appeared on shows like Friday Night Lights, Grey’s Anatomy, Secret Life of an American Teenager, and Power.

Quavo hadn’t made any statement on the studio’s choice at this time. While the Quavo Huncho rapper doesn’t have much acting experience, his enthusiasm for the role was clear. TMZ Sports got a hold of him last month and he sounded as strong-willed as ever. “I think they need to call me, so me and Jack Harlow can do it. I need to play Wesley Snipes role.” He told the interviewer.

An impressive starting lineup

Their apparent friendship aside, both Quavo and Harlow have shown off their basketball skills multiple times. It’s a bit of a lost opportunity, but White Men Don’t Jump is still on track to be great. Calamatic will be directing, while Kenya Barris and Doug Hall combine their skills for the script. Surprisingly, Calamatic doesn’t have a ton of experience with Hollywood productions. The 34-year-old has worked primarily in the music scene up to this point. In addition to just being a great talent, Calamatic was also made a Grammy winner in 2020 for the ‘Old Town Road’ MV with Lil Nas X. His creative flair in working with artists should lend itself to a movie headlining one of the hottest rappers of this generation.

If you’re an avid sports fan looking for a realistic touch, it’s basically guaranteed. Blake Griffin of the Brooklyn Nets and Ryan Kalil of the New York Jets will be co-producing.

ATL rap lovers, if you’re still set on seeing Quavo on the big screen, don’t worry. the Culture III will be starring in ‘Wash Me in The River’ alongside Robert De Niro later this year.
