Drakeo The Ruler’s brother, Ralfy The Plug has expressed that he is not the biggest fan of Kendrick Lamar’s latest record. In an interview with Bootleg Kev’s podcast, Ralfy spoke about Mr.Morale and The Big Steppers shortly after it dropped on May 25. He was not that impressed.
In the interview, he expressed that he felt Kendrick’s latest had “barbershop old n-gga vibes” mixed with “politic music.”
“You can’t just go throwing his album in front of people after five years like he’s just the messiah of rap, he says. “That’s just not realistic, especially when you got the homies dropping heat no skips.” He continues, “If a n-gga like me don’t say something, the program continues.”
Ralfy The Plug Expresses More On Twitter
Before he went on the podcast he expressed more of his thoughts the day before on Twitter. “Kendrick make the type of music you listen to when you on yo way to a job interview or when you at home doing homework so you got to put yo head phones on to block everybody out because knowledge is power I don’t be on that type shit don’t be mad at my opinion,” he tweeted. “I like rap music not political poetry don’t @ me.”
While it may not be Ralfy‘s rap album of the year, the album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and received an 89 score on Metacritic. Eminem was “speechless” after the record came out. Yo @DrDre this Kendrick album is f****** ridiculous. I’m speechless,” he tweeted.
