After Long Wait, Rico Nasty New Single is Finally Out 

After the snippet in April and the announcement more than a week ago, the new Rico Nasty single “Magic” has finally launched. It sounds very different from previous Rico stuff. The punk rap with threatening bass guitars switched to mild guitars and more “serenades” lyrics (“I like to spend my time with you” vs. “he’s like a doll to me” on “SIMP”).

Together with a new single, Rico has also launched a TikTok challenge

The song is a supposed part of an upcoming mixtape, Rx. It’s not yet clear how the new music will fit into the “druggy” narrative of the album, which seems apparent in the name and cover of the upcoming tape. 

Overall, Rico Nasty seems to be very productive this year. Not only does she have a mixtape coming up, but she also released multiple singles and performed on Grammy as well. Rico’s hard work is paying off with her eclectic sound. It fits different songs, whether they are named SIMP or Magic. Hopefully, the upcoming record will mix all of Rico’s art craziness into one unique sound or emerge in its all prime diversity.
