Snoop Dogg is still out here making moves decades after his introduction to our ears. His latest move had been the acquirement of Death Row Records. According to Complex News, ownership switched from the MNRK music group to Snoop. When Snoop Dogg first gained ownership of Death Row, he didn’t have some of the masters to iconic hits. The Dogg changed that, and now he has control over classic songs.

During an interview with Tidal, Uncle Snoop revealed that he’d had the opportunity to add more masters to the Death Row catalog.

“I got The Chronic album. I got Doggystyle, Tha Doggfather, Murder Was the Case, Dogg Food, Above the Rim(soundtrack)…got all these records.”

The newly acquired records did have a chance to return to the original artist, but Snoop was trusted to look after them. He hopes that the same thing happens with 2pac’s songs released under Death Row. The 2pac estate is currently the owner of 2pac’s songs.

“As far as 2Pac’s masters, 2Pac’s masters came back to him last year.”

Snoop Dogg has plans to bring Death Row back to the forefront without its negativity. The CEO of Death Row plans to sign new artists, re-release classics, create EDM versions of songs, and push the label into the metaverse.

Snoop will have to balance his consultation job with Def Jam for another year while bringing Death Row back to the top. If anyone can do it, Snoop Dogg can. He has been known to wear multiple jackets at the same time.

We are excited to see where Snoop Dogg takes Death Row. Up has to be the trajectory for the label. The Dogg oozes excitement every time he talks about his new project, surely this excitement will flow to all areas of Death Row. There is not an open scope for Snoop Dogg to move mountains during his reign as CEO.
