Few things escape the eyes of the media as recent clamor over a recent photo of Michael Jordan, and Mary J Blige proves.

The word is, a photo can tell a thousand stories, although they have no voice to speak. However, it is not the photo; instead, what the beholder derives from the photo that says everything. Today Michael Jordan’s photo with Mary J. Blige is front and center and getting lots of attention.
A Fine Line between Scandalous and Innocent
At a recent All-Star Game, the G.O.A.T. took a moment to congratulate the Queen of Hip hop Mary J on her stellar half-time performance. However, his show of gratitude got a little too personal for many. Once the photo was taken and made its way to the media, it quickly went viral.
Jordan’s Posture
In a video, Jordan’s hand is in a most inappropriate place. To add insult to injury, social media’s “private investigators,” cased the entire video. Bingo, they zeroed in on Jordan’s face as his hand is placed precariously near Blige’s butt. His hand doesn’t appear to be on the singer’s backside; it is near her butt as he leans in for a hug.
In a still photo on the same night, Jordan poses between Vanessa Bryant and Mary J. Blige. Once again, his hand is placed near Blige’s backside. But, to make matters worse, his hands are not placed in the same position on Bryant, leading some to form their conclusions.
And the Crowd Goes Wild Over Jordan and Mary
All it takes is one brush to start a large fire. The masses immediately started speculating. One question emerged: whether the two had romantic ties in the past. Although not one of the gawkers was in the picture, they had a lot to say. The primary insulation was that Mary J. was enjoying the attention. One social media poster stated,
“She is living her best life, and I’m here for it. Go, Mary!”
Others speculated on Michael Jordan’s intentions. Another poster said,
“Big Mike working on Mary.”
What’s Fame Got to Do with It!
Fame has everything to do with it. No matter how you move, you can potentially find yourself making front-page news. So, fame is not for the faint at heart. We don’t know what Michael’s intent was or if there was even anything to make a noise about. Looking at the photo, his hand looks close to the Queen’s backside, but is not firmly on her backside. While all appears harmless fun for most to speculate on, there are some other things to consider. One essential factor is the N.B.A. Legends family. Jordan is married with kids. No, we do not know the details of their relationship. But, we do know what can happen when things are blown out of proportion. Let’s hope nothing follows.
Like all things which may cause a stir, publicists leap into action to advise, clean or clear things up. So, we’ll be on watch to see if Mary or Michael addresses the nature of these photos anytime soon. If they do remember F.M. Hip Hop, we got you.
