A$AP Rocky Maintains Innocence In The Shooting Case

A$AP Rocky is maintaining his innocence in the face of an arduous legal battle with a former member of A$AP Mob.

Rocky v. Relli

Back in August, Harlem star A$AP Rocky pled not guilty to shooting his former friend A$AP Relli. During that Los Angeles court appearance, prosecutors charged the ‘No Limit’ rapper with two counts of assault using a semi-automatic firearm. Rocky, real name Rakim Mayers, only spoke up that day to agree to the court date of Nov 2. Since then, the case has been relatively quiet. That was until today, when Rocky’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, told TMZ the entire affair was a simple cash grab. “Rocky didn’t commit a crime.” He said. “It was an extortion attempt by a former associate, who threatened to make false criminal accusations if Rocky didn’t pay him.”

Relli accuses his former bandmate of shooting him during a fierce verbal altercation in Hollywood last November. The accusation carries a serious felony charge that would place new father A$AP Rocky in a tough spot. But according to Tacopina, it’s all a hoax orchestrated for some easy money. In addition to this, He claims two eyewitnesses can back up this story.

“What will become abundantly clear in the upcoming months, based on facts and evidence, is that Rocky is innocent of these charges,” Rocky’s lawyer told TMZ confidently.

A$AP Rocky certainly has a potent force on his side to maintain innocence. Tacopina is known for clearing charges for high-profile rappers like Meek Mill and YG. His track record is also quite long. He even helped out Foxy Brown all the way back in 2005 with a misdemeanor assault case.

For the sake of A$AP and his brand new family, Joe will also have to fight, hand and foot.

Arraignment Held For A$AP Rocky

A$AP Rocky recently appeared in court for his arraignment to make his plea. The artist pleads not guilty to two firearm charges.

A$AP’s Arraignment

The arraignment took place at a court in downtown Los Angeles. A$AP Rocky pulled up to the court building in an all-black Escalade. He was rocking a navy blue suit and tie. A$AP always shows up wearing the right attire, even if it’s to court.

Two bodyguards escort A$AP into the building. He remains silent as he quickly heads into court for his arraignment.

A$AP Makes His Plea During Arraignment

An arraignment is when the defendant hears the charges they are facing. The court needs to make sure that A$AP Rocky understands the charges being brought against him.

The court charges Rocky with two counts of assault with a semiautomatic weapon.

After, A$AP makes his plea known for the record. A$AP Rocky pleads not guilty to all charges against him. He made his plea with his lawyer Sara Caplin by his side.

The Incident

A$AP Rocky has an arraignment after being accused of shooting a former member of the A$AP Mob. Relli stated that he is the victim of the shooting.

The two men got into a disagreement. Sometime after the agreement A$AP Rocky wanted to discuss the disagreement. According to Relli, A$AP Rocky baited him into a sketchy location. The situation occurred back in November of last year.

According to FmHipHop attorneys Jamal Tooson and Brian Hurwitz state, “After arriving at the location, a conversation ensued whereby without provocation, warning, or any justification, A$AP Rocky produced the handgun and intentionally fired multiple shots at Mr. Ephron.”

LAPD Arrest A$AP

A$AP Rocky was arrested after vacationing with the mother of his child. Officers arrested him at the airport and give him a $550,000 bail. He posted bail the same day. Officers also raided his home but did not find the weapon.

The arraignment is the first step for A$AP.

A$AP Rocky x Slowthai Drop New Single (Listen)

A$AP Rocky and slowthai have released a new single entitled “MAZZA”. The new track, which marks the first release of 2021 by either artist, was produced by SAMO, slowthai, and Kwes Darko. It is the third single released in anticipation of slowthai’s upcoming studio album TYRON, along with the songs “feel away” and “nhs”.

TYRON, which will be slowthai’s sophomore record, is expected to be released on February 5th. It includes 14 tracks with features from James Blake, Dominic Fike, Denzel Curry, Deb Never, and others. His last full-length LP was 2019’s critically-acclaimed Nothing Great About Britain.

A$AP TyY Drops New Single & Video

Harlem-based rapper A$AP TyY, of the world-renowned A$AP Mob, is back with his latest single entitled “Who Ain’t With Me”. Produced by Synthetic Nation, the hard-hitting drill track marks TyY’s first commercial solo release since 2018.

Coinciding with the track’s release, TyY also dropped a music video directed by the legendary 5ifth Ave. Filmed in the streets of Manhattan, TyY goes on a joyride set to the menacing overtones of the song. Notably, A$AP Ferg makes an appearance alongside his crew. The visuals were also released on droppTV, which includes a shoppable interface where fans can cop merch seen throughout the video, including TyY’s custom Nike Air Force 1s.

Salutations FM Trendsetters and FM Hip Hop Heads! Hope everyone had a great weekend! We also hope all the mothers worldwide enjoyed their well deserved Mother’s Day! While everyone was taking their mothers out to nice restaurants, two pivoted figures of the Harlem A$AP Mob collective released a track that was guaranteed to “get uglier than Balenciagas“. A$AP Ferg teamed up with his fellow member A$AP Rocky on a banger that gives you that 1998 feel. The DMX sampled “Pups” banger. This is not your average sampled track. The banger samples Ruff Ryder and former Def Jam emcee DMX‘s 1998 debut single “Get At Me Dog (featuring Sheek Louch)” track. No instruments was changed. The song was done in its original and rawest form. From the drums, snares and barking ad libs to the “Where my dogs at? We right here dog…” references.

YG and A$AP Rocky Show Us Their “Handguns” In New Video
