Trippie Redd Reveals Cover Art For Upcoming Album

Trippie Redd keeps his strong cover art game going

For a while, Trippie Redd has been teasing his new album, Trip At Knight.

Last month, he dropped his highly anticipated single “Miss The Rage” with Playboi Carti. He’s also been previewing plenty of snippets on social media.

His latest effort to promote the album comes from the revelation of the project’s cover art.

The art is a similar style to his 2018 debut album, Life’s A Trip. Both covers are designed by Canadian artist Stephen Gibb.

He’s almost ready to reveal the tracklist

Aside from sharing the cover art, Trippie is teasing the tracklist as well. He claims he’ll reveal it after 100k pre-saves on streaming services. Additionally, he’s requesting 200k comments from fans on his Instagram post.

Trippie recently confirmed that the album will drop before his tour which begins on August 25 in Minnesota.

Polo G’s ‘Hall of Fame’ Secures No. 1 Spot on Billboard 200 Chart

Polo G earns his first No. 1 album.

After a tight battle with Migos, Polo G has claimed the top spot on Billboard’s 200 Chart. His album, Hall of Fame, earned 143,000 album equivalent units in the United States in its debut week.

The album boasts some big-name features, including Nicki Minaj, DaBaby, Lil Wayne and more. It features the former Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper “Rapstar.”

The achievement comes soon after the rapper was arrested in Miami, though he’s since been released.

Hall of Fame wasn’t the only big album of the week.

Migos came in behind Polo G, earning 130,500 album equivalent units with Culture III. Polo G was able to beat the Atlanta trio despite the fact that they released a deluxe edition of their album with extra tracks before the week was over.

Hall of Fame and Culture III are two of the biggest albums of the year. They achieved the second and third largest sales weeks of hip-hop albums in 2021 so far, respectively. The Off-Season by J. Cole is the only rap album to sell more in a single week this year.

Polo G

Polo G’s new album serves as the Chicago native’s first album to reach the top spot of Billboard’s album charts. His debut, Die A Legend, secured the 6 spot back in 2019, while its follow-up, The Goat, earned the No. 2 spot in 2020.

Drake Hints at Long-Anticipated “Certified Lover Boy” Release

Drake has been hinting at the release of his album Certified Lover Boy for a long time.

In an interview on Saturday, Drake hinted at a new date for the Certified Lover Boy release. Despite originally promising the album’s release in January of this year, the rapper made it clear that he plans on releasing the album before the end of this summer. When asked if he will be attending the rap battle between Murda Mookz and Reed Dollaz at the end of the summer, Drake confirmed his attendance. He added “My album will be out by then,” without alluding to any more details or specifics about the release. NuNu Nellz, one of the interview hosts seen sitting next to Drake, jokes “I got a feature on there.”

Drake via Instagram (2021)

“I’m looking forward to sharing [the album] with you all in 2021.”

Drake had originally promised the release of Certified Lover Boy in January 2021, announcing the album along with the release of “Laugh Now, Cry Later,” ft. Lil Durk. When January came, Drake stated he was channeling his energy into rehab and recovery from his knee surgery. In an Instagram story, he said that due to the surgery the release of the album would be postponed. In the interview, Drake did not give detail about the specific release date. Hopefully, the promise of it being out by the end of the summer holds true!

Polo G Released Hall of Fame

Polo G released Hall of Fame, his new album, on June 11th. Unsurprisingly, the debut has been massive. With hits like “Rap Star” and “Gang Gang,” this album appears to be racing to the top spot on the Billboard. The album features guest artists like Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, DaBaby and the late Pop Smoke.
Polo G Hall of Fame

“My goal for Hall of Fame was just to make sure that I can show my diversity as an artist,” Polo G said in the album announcement video. “For the people to hear something that I ain’t never did before.”

Since Polo G released Hall of Fame, he is putting in the work to promote his new album, and he has appeared most recently on The Tonight Show, where he performed “Rap Star”. Exposure like that has had a big impact on the album. Evidently, people seem to love everything that Polo G puts out, and he is making a name for himself as one of the best in the game today. So far, Hall of Fame looks to be on pace to outperform Polo G’s first album The Goat.

Polo G is Hot Right Now

As you may know, The Goat was released in 2020, so Polo G has been busy. It appears that he will be living at the top of the charts for a long time to come. Apparently, everything the man touches turns to gold.

Tyler, The Creator’s Billboard Stirs Album Rumors

It seems as though Tyler, The Creator is beginning to rollout a new album

His method of announcement isn’t any sort of social media post, lead single, or any sort of direct statement.  This time, Tyler uses a simple billboard and already sets the internet ablaze.

The billboard says ‘CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST’ with the phone number 1 (855)-444-8888 listed under it.  Most importantly, the Columbia Records logo, where the Flower Boy is signed, is on the bottom right of the billboard.  The background is two big stars in pale and unsaturated pink and green, very on par with his recent aesthetic.

If you call the number at the bottom, its a recording of his mother.  In the recording, she speaks of how much she will always love and support Tyler, who is also in the recording.  Its very sweet and of course a bit humorous, given that its Tyler related, literally.

Further speculations have led to a fairly strong conclusion that this will serve as a skit on his next album, likely as an intro or interlude.  The skit is now titled ‘MOMMA TALK’ and the album itself is supposedly titled ‘CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST.’

History repeats itself…

While it may be a bit extreme to immediately assume this is an album rollout, it makes sense.  First, Tyler consistently drops solo albums every two years since 2011’s ‘Goblin.’  Secondly, according to Hip Hop By The Numbers, the range of days between Tyler announcing an album and then releasing it is between five and 47 days, so far in his career.  He also has only ever dropped between the months of April and July.  To top it all off, he’s headlining countless festivals this summer.   In short, we eating!

Give the billboard a call to experience the love between Tyler and his mom, it won’t surprise you!  Hopefully you’re just as excited as we are for this album!

J. Cole and Lil Baby Go Gold with “pride is the devil”

J. Cole continues to break records with his new album, now his 18th gold plaque with rap star Lil Baby

J. Cole continues to win at everything he does. After dropping one of the most anticipated albums of the year and a stint of playing professional basketball with the Rwanda Patriots, he returned to the States- with a new shiny gold plaque.

The track “p r i d e. i s . t h e . d e v i l.” was one of the highlights of J. Cole’s new album “The Off-Season”. The song was one of the most personal tracks on the album, with a catchy hook and a fantastic Lil’ Baby feature. Lil’ Baby’s reign as the feature killer continues, a title he’s held for the past year now. J. Cole decided to end his trend on no features on the album with stars from Cam’ron to 21 Savage.

Going for Gold

Similarly, Lil’ Baby is coming off some success himself as his collaborative album with Lil’ Durk “The Voice of the Heroes” was met with widespread praise. “pride is the devil”  is now certified gold and is the second plaque Cole has received off the album. However, we are pretty sure there will be more with tracks like “amari” having over 11 million views on Youtube and “my life” being his first #1 record on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop charts.

This song is Lil’ Baby 17th gold plaque, cementing his place as a star in this game. Lil Baby makes the song his own with his signature relentless flow and passion. The Off-Season has been a huge commercial success as Cole earned the largest streaming week of 2021, with over 325.5 million streams in its first week. In addition, the album sold over 250,000 copies in the first week.

Congratulations to Cole for another huge accomplishment!

Kendrick Lamar possible album on the way- Top Dawg boss teases release

“THE WAIT IS OVAH!!!”

Fans are speculating that a new Kendrick Lamar album could be in the works following a post from Top Dawg Entertainment boss Anthony Tiffith.

In a cryptic post, shared on social media this past Wednesday, it wrote “THE WAIT IS OVAH!!!” along with a teaser video of a ‘loading’ bar. At the end of the clip, the date May 7 2021 appeared.

Kendrick Lamar’s Award-winning album DAMN was released over four years ago, and fans have been anxiously awaiting a follow-up album ever since. Although there have been hints that Lamar has been working on his next project, the team hasn’t said a word about a release date for his specifically.

FullSizeRender

Twitter was split between those who were hopeful about the possible release and some who did not want to get their hopes too high. It didn’t take long for people to start expressing their excitement about the announcement.

Lamar was due to headline Glastonbury this year, giving even more reason to believe he might have a new album to be released in summer.

However, SZA’s fans are also hoping that she is the artist that has a new album on the way.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan earlier this year, she said that the follow-up to her 2017 album Ctrl would be out this year.

“This album is going to be the s*** that made me feel something in my (heart and gut),” she said.

“That’s what’s going to go on the album. I’m making all different types of s*** every day from different places in my spirit.”

Whichever artist drops a project, it’s sure to be a hit. Stay tuned to see what TDE has in store.

Migos Share New” Culture 3″ Trailer

Migos Share New Trailer

Since 2018, the Migos released Culture 2, and in 2017, the first Culture was released. Over the years, they have been working with other artists or even expanding their music independently. News of their new album, “Culture III,” was supposed to be released last month, but they held onto it because of the pandemic. They have hopes to release it when people can go outside and be able to attend functions. Tuesday was the third anniversary of Culture II. With their album’s anniversary, they shared an insight into their process, especially through these hard times and how they worked around it.

Migos Share New" Culture 3" Trailer
Migos Share New” Culture 3″ Trailer

Taking a break from their usual group antics, they were able to work on themselves and even reflect. As the Migos share the new trailer, expectations are high because their previous albums hit differently and changed the game. Stepping down from the spotlight has given them a chance to build more so as a group through their music. The trailer shows high promise as they are putting in that work and really dedicating a lot to “Culture III.” Hearing some snippets, you already know they are gonna pull off what they were able to do with their previous albums.

Not much can be said until the album release, but a release date hasn’t been set just yet. The Migos hope to bring it all this year and leave an impact because it’s well needed with a year like 2020. The album won’t be released any time soon, but the group did share that new music is on the way. Maybe we won’t hear the album till this summer, with covid cases easing up; who knows the next move for the world. Stay updated with FMHIPHOP.

Jay-Z & The Weeknd give Belly’s New Album “Seal of Approval”

Jay-Z & The Weeknd give Belly’s New Album “Seal of Approval.”

Belly is known to work with many artists over the years, such as contributing R&B songs for XO and even Beyonce. His last album back in 2018 with a couple of singles was what we were left with. In April of 2020, he shared on Twitter what he’s been dealing with through the years. From dealing with PTSD and being on anti-depressants, Belly has taken time to work on himself for his well being. It wasn’t until this year on Twitter he announced his album was done but wasn’t complete until Jay-Z & The Weeknd gave Belly’s album the seal of approval.

“The last couple years have been fucked up for me in almost every way,” Belly wrote in an Instagram post. “I’ve been in and out of therapy for over a year(depression, PTSD). I gotta do physical therapy twice a week (back/neck injuries), and I can’t even tour or travel too much. I got put on anti-depressants (I’m off now), lost my confidence & regained most of the weight that I lost.”

The name of the album See You Next Wednesday doesn’t have a release date just yet. The misleading title had us thinking it was gonna be out on the 20th, but who knows, and now it’s a waiting game. With being on a hiatus, who knows what Belly has in store. Being signed by XO and Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, this brings a promising list of possible collaborations.

Jay-Z & The Weeknd give Belly's New Album "Seal of Approval"Following this year, artists have been putting in work and are giving and showing us their all. This year isn’t the one to play games but instead, move around to gain.
