Lil Uzi Vert Accidentally Injures Wireless Festival Attendee After Throwing Phone

During Wireless Festival last weekend, which took place on July 1, Lil Uzi Vert hurled a fan’s cellphone into the massive crowd. This was understandable as multiple attendees threw their phones on stage toward Uzi upon his entrance. We’ve seen many concert fanatics attempt this new trend hoping for a featured act to create a moment on social media. Unfortunately, the phone Uzi threw in the crowd struck a fan in the face and caused a pretty bad injury. The fan who goes by the name “Drilla G” shared a video on her TikTok page of what happened:

Drilla G’s Response Video Following The Injury

She gave tons of insight on the unfortunate incident in a follow-up Tok Tok video. While Uzi didn’t mean to injure anyone, it probably wasn’t the best idea for him to toss the phone into the crowd. Drilla G explained that it was near impossible to dodge the phone because of how densely packed the crowd was. Additionally, there isn’t any information that’s come out about the severity of her head injury yet. The owner of the phone Uzi threw off stage did get the phone back apparently, “Yes, there was some damage caused, but the guy got his phone back and everything is being dealt with.” Hopefully, Drilla G is doing okay and is in a decent enough condition following the situation.

The Dangers Of Attending Shows In 2022

It seems as though headlines like these keep appearing in recent years since the Pandemic regulations for live shows lightened. During a performance yesterday, July 5, Travis Scott stopped fans from endangering themselves as they climbed ladders, trusses, etc. It’s refreshing seeing Travis take initiative and control his crowd better than he did during his festival disaster last year. With this new information surrounding Uzi’s performance, how will live shows be moving forward? Read more of FM Hip-Hop’s featured articles today.

Travi$ Scott Gets Astroworld Criticism After $5.5 Millionn Bugatti Purchase

Travi$ Scott is under fire for a substantial recent purchase, but the Houston rapper is defending himself.

Travi$ v. The World

$5.5 million is a whole lot of money. But for the “Sicko Mode” author, this seems like a reasonable enough sum. At least, to treat himself to a brand new black Bugatti Veyron Chiron Super Sport with a hefty price tag. While a nice luxury car is impressive to most of Travi$ Scott’s fans, an attorney representing one of the victims of the Astroworld tragedy expresses criticism.

Ezra Blount is one of 10 people who tragically died during the 2021 Houston Astroworld incident. Nine-year-old Blount was senselessly trampled due to the overselling of venue tickets and poor security efforts. Now eight months and several massive lawsuits later, the family and attorney representing Ezra are speaking up. Bob Hillard is the legal representation for Ezra’s family, and he’s not happy with Travi$’s spending habits.

Hillard spoke to TMZ and called the buy “excessive.” In addition, he claims that if Scott had spent even a fraction of that money on security measures for that tragic concert, Ezra would still be alive and well. Before succumbing to his injuries, Blount firstly sued Travi$ Scott and Live Nation. Despite Travi$ Scott’s apologies and compensation offers, the Blount family and attorney clearly aren’t letting up.

For Clarification’s Sake

Despite the fierce criticism, Travi$ Scott isn’t afraid to defend himself against Astroworld victim’s attorneys. A representative for Travi$ reached out to TMZ this weekend (Jun 26) to respond to Hillard. Apparently, Travi$ Scott purchased the Bugatti in 2020. This would be before the Astroworld disaster even occurred. The document states, “This latest attempt to exploit Astroworld victims and gaslight the media and the public is a new low. The car referenced was purchased way back in 2020 (well before the tragic events at Astroworld) and covered widely by the media — including TMZ — at that time.”

The rep continues, “Misrepresenting a two-year-old car purchase to make an unprovoked and unjustified attack on Travi$ Scott is nothing more than another desperate publicity stunt to try to falsely blame Travi$ and intentionally manipulate public opinion, which won’t work.”

Travis Scott slowly returns to the spotlight after Astroworld tragedy.

Although the “Highest In The Room” rapper is facing many lawsuits after 10 people died, and hundreds injured at his Astroworld Festival, he seems to be mentally recovering from the tragedy, moving forward with life. After taking some time away from the spotlight, a few months ago back in March, FM Hip-Hop reported that the 31-year-old performed for the first time since the unfortunate event. As many outlets have reported, in the moment he had no idea how serious things were. Travis feels terrible for the lives lost and the families suffering. He also performed at the Billboard Music Awards in May and will be headlining his first festival at Day N Vegas in Las Vegas in September. The “Sicko Mode” rapper will then hit Sao Paolo to headline Primavera Sound in November.

Travis Scott’s new Bugatti isn’t the only thing exciting in his life as he welcomes baby boy into the world!

Back in February Travis and Kylie welcomed their second child just a day after their daughter Stormi’s birthday. The Couple welcomed their baby boy on 2/2/22 naming him Wolf, before deciding to change his name which still remains unknown to the public.

Travis Scott Holds First Performance Since Astroworld Fest Disaster

Travis Scott held his first live performance since the Astroworld tragedy that claimed ten lives in November. The Houston rapper’s public presence has been small since the incident, with many brands choosing to distance themselves from him.

As part of the aftermath of the disaster, Travis Scott is currently facing two lawsuits with damages totaling in the billions. He was even removed from the lineup for Coachella in April.

As a result, Scott has been taking time away from the stage–until now. According to TMZ, Scott performed at a private pre-Oscars party on Saturday in Bel Air, Calif. Though the event was small in scale, some of Hollywood’s biggest names were in attendance. Guests included actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire, as well as Venus and Serena Williams.

Travis Scott announces HEAL project

The performance also marked the first event since Travis Scott announced his HEAL project, which aims to help at risk youth and keep events safe for attendees. Scott posted his announcement of the project on Instagram.

“While it’s easy for corporations and institutions to stay in the shadows, I feel as a leader in my community, I need to step up in times of need.”, Trav said in his post. The $5 million initiative received backlash from the family of Astroworld’s youngest victim, Ezra Blount.

“It’s a PR stunt,” Tericia Blount said in a interview with Rolling Stone. “He’s pretty much trying to sway the jurors before they’re even assembled. He’s trying to make himself look good, but it doesn’t look that way to someone with our eyes.”

Scott’s spokesman Stephanie Rawlings-Black issued a response to the Blount family after their lawyer claimed that the initiative’s launch violated a gag order. She called the accusation “shameful and cynical.”

Even with these efforts, it will take time for Travis Scott to regain the public’s trust.
