Boosie Badazz Reacts To R. Kelly’s 30-Year Sentence

Boosie Badazz came to R. Kelly’s defense after the singer received a 30 year prison sentence on Wednesday. Kelly was sentenced after being convicted of sex trafficking and racketeering charges in September.

However, not everyone is happy with the ruling. Boosie Badazz took to social media on Thursday to share his thoughts on R. Kelly’s sentence, which could see him spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Boosie responds to R. Kelly’s sentence

The Baton Rouge artist admitted that Kelly deserves to spend time in prison, but argued that his crimes didn’t warrant such a sentence. He also expressed his hope that the disgraced singer would receive treatment while serving his sentence.

“People getting 15/20 years for murder n he get 30!!”, Boosie tweeted. “Yes he was wrong af for manipulating young girls n sexing them but he didn’t kill anyone, aggravated rape anyone. [And] no blame on the parents who knew everything. Resentence this man!! College professors get probation for this sh*t.”

In another tweet, Boosie seemingly accuses the parents of Kelly’s victims, posting a screenshot of a court document. The document alleges that one victim’s mother “engineered her relationship” with Kelly and “actively misled [him] about her age.”

Boosie doubled down on his support for R. Kelly in a video posted to his Instagram. The video shows Boosie blasting Kelly’s music while on a boat, with Boosie bemoaning Kelly’s sentence.

“They gave my boy Kelly 30, man. F**k!”, he said while singing along to Kelly’s “When a Woman Loves.” “Can’t take this away from them, though.  That n***a the truth, man… I don’t wanna see no n***a down. That n***a knew something, man.”

The terms of Kelly’s treatment

While Boosie’s comments are sure to cause controversy, his calls for Kelly to be rehabilitated are somewhat accurate. TMZ reported Friday that Kelly has been ordered to receive mental health care upon his release.

Kelly’s treatment will also include therapy and he must avoid contact with anyone under the age of 18. In addition, he must inform anyone who chooses to live with him of his status as a sex offender.

Kelly still faces charges in Minnesota and Chicago, with a trial date set in August.

Bill Cosby thinks R. Kelly Got ‘RailRoaded’ in Trial

Bill Cosby thinks that R. Kelly simply got dealt a bad hand with the guilty verdict in his federal sex crimes case. Cosby is blaming Gloria Allred and systemic racism for Kelly’s guilty verdict. Gloria Allred represented the alleged victims in both Cosby’s and Kelly’s cases. However, last year on September 27, 2021, Kelly was found guilty in New York. The charges included sexual exploitation of a child, bribery, racketeering, and sex trafficking involving five victims.

TMZ caught up with Andrew Wyatt, Bill Cosby’s spokesperson, at a Beverly Hills hotel last year on September 28, 2021, to hear what his client thought on the verdict. Wyatt told TMZ that Cosby thought that R. Kelly got “railroaded.” Systemic racism is the common thread throughout the interview that Wyatt had with TMZ. Citing how R. Kelly had to sit in jail while awaiting trial but Harvey Weinstein was out on bond. Additionally, Wyatt brought up how Allred has gone after prominent black men like Tiger Woods and Shaquille O’Neal. Wyatt also brought up cancel culture as a problem with society and a contributing factor.

Finally, Wyatt also did not think the singer would be sentenced because an appeals court would overturn the verdict. Just like they did for Bill Cosby.

The Difference in Bill Cosby’s & R. Kelly’s Trials

The difference between the two very high-profile cases is very simple. Cosby’s release from prison had nothing to do with his innocence or guilt. Instead, it happened because of the D.A. messed up a deal that Bill Cosby made to avoid prosecution. Kelly did not seem to have such a deal set in place for himself.

Meanwhile, as of June 29, 2022, R. Kelly was sentenced to 30 years in prison after being found guilty on all counts of racketeering and sexual assaults. The sentence came as a shock for many die-hard R.Kelly fans, but as a sigh of relief for his alleged victims.

Bill Cosby Is Promoting Boosie Badazz’s New Movie

Boosie Badazz’s new movie, “My Struggle,” has found a controversial promoter: disgraced actor Bill Cosby. The rapper premiered his new biographical film on his website September 24th. The movie follows how Badazz beat the odds in his hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Cosby has called on his own fanbase to make the movie “a box office success.”

Scratching Each Other’s Backs

Boosie has stood in Cosby’s corner for a long time. In 2018, the rapper defended Cosby when courts convicted him as a sex offender and sentenced him to 3-10 years in prison. Cosby was convicted of drugging and molesting ex-basketball player Andrea Constand. Many other women came forward as well to accuse Cosby of drugging and sexually assaulting them. However, Cosby was released in June of this year, due to a process violation by Cosby’s lawyers and a previous state prosecutor.

Cosby posted a message of support for “My Struggle” on his Instagram yesterday, with a picture of the film’s poster.

“Lil Boosie, I have always appreciated your truth and support. What I’m about to say, is not to compensate you because you supported Bill Cosby. My publicist, Mr. Andrew Wyatt told me about your film, “My Struggle” and I am encouraging all of my supporters and fans to make this American Citizen, Lil Boosie’s film, ‘My Struggle’ a box office success.”

Badazz was quick to respond, thanking him via Twitter.

Boosie Badazz’s Own Controversies

After his own brushes with cancellation for homophobic and transphobic comments, Badazz has faced a difficult road in promoting “My Struggle.” Many fans and industry colleagues have simply had enough. Badazz begged Drake for help with his movie on Instagram, writing:

“Ay Drake, I need you to tell Canada fuck with my biopic, Go fuck with my film. Go on tell the 6 go fuck with my film. I know you got power. Help me out, n***a.”

Boosie later took to Twitter, claiming that Instagram had suspended his account again. Badazz believes the suspension occurred because he called on Drake for help. Drake has yet to acknowledge Badazz’s pleas.

However, Badazz also found support in comedian Lil Duval, who called out everyone that showed up to 50 Cent’s series premiere but not Badazz’s. 50 Cent had his own series premiere, “Black Mafia Family”, just a day before Badazz’s, with a much better reception.

Kid Cudi calls Bill Cosby supporters ‘f****n idiots’

Kid Cudi isn’t having it

Cleveland rapper Kid Cudi has always been one for the people.

Last week, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court unexpectedly released actor Bill Cosby from prison. He served almost 3 years for sexual assault. Over 60 different women accused him of misconduct. The decision to free him came not from a revelation of innocence, but from a violation of his due process rights.

Since his release, there’s been plenty of celebrity commentary on the subject. Public figures have shown support as well as outrage. Plenty of Hollywood actors blasted the decision, from Rosie O’Donnell to Rosana Arquette. Phylicia Rashad, a star of The Cosby Show, has been one of the few to praise Cosby’s release.

Kid Cudi delivered one of the most talked-about comments on the situation.

There’s no holding back

The Man on the Moon III rapper didn’t hold back, letting everyone know he thinks Cosby’s recent supporters are “f****n idiots.” The tweet gathered over 11k retweets and 57k likes.

Kid Cudi

Cudi received plenty of backlash in his comments. People called out his old lyrics, brought up his past battles with depression, and even brought up him wearing a dress on Saturday Night Live.

The rapper did not respond to any of these malicious comments and seems to be holding his ground on the situation.

83-year-old Bill Cosby Denied Parole

Today’s headlines contend that 83-year-old Cosby is being denied parole after serving his three year minimum!

The news of Bill Cosby’s multiple sexual assault allegations left us scratching our heads and twinging with disbelief. Over 60 women came forward with allegations against the beloved TV father, actor, and veteran comedian. And the accusations were shocking. Cosby’s fate was uncertain. And we had a full investment in the unfolding of the drama.

An April 2018 conviction seals Bill’s fate.

April 2018, the popular sitcom actor received a guilty verdict on three counts of aggravated and indecent assault. Bill’s sentence was 3-10 years on the conviction. But, there were other conditions for Cosby to meet. He was to pay a fine of $25,000 and prosecution fees. And he was to agree to lifetime mandatory sex offender counseling with a treatment provider.

According to sources, Bill would be eligible for parole in September due to meeting the minimum serving requirement.

Yet, reports show a current denial of his parole. At first look, the decision raises questions. But, this ruling is far from arbitrary. Bill’s denial is coming after he refused to participate in a sexual predator treatment program. Now, one can reason that the refusal hinges on his continual claims of innocence. Regardless if he was aware of the terms under which he could receive parole.

In conclusion, we know that Cosby’s legal team is working on an appeal to Cosby’s original conviction. And the parole denial is no surprise to Cosby. Thus, Cosby instead turns his hopes to a supreme court appeal. It is sad to see an icon fall from grace. But we hope justice, whatever that may look like, prevails for 83-year-old Cosby.
