Little Girls On TikTok Inspired By Halle Bailey In “The Little Mermaid”

On Friday, September 9th, the internet was able to see a short trailer of Disney’s live-action The Little Mermaid, which arrives in theaters in 2023. Based on the responses, Disney has many young girls inspired by Halle Bailey’s portrayal of Ariel. The artist is lighting up the hearts of little children everywhere.

The 1-minute and 23-second teaser shows Bailey as she flaunts her iconic long, tinted red locs. In the sneak peek, Halle sings the popular track, “Part Of You World” from the original 1989 animated version of The Little Mermaid.

Little Girls of color melt on TikTok as Halle presents her portrayal of Ariel.

According to The Shade Room, there is a viral TikTok trend taking place called the “blind reaction” where parents are capturing their child’s reaction to the trailer. These TikTok’s are not only adorable, but reveal how starstruck these babies are, leaving them in awe. One mother caught her daughter, Maya’s reaction as she was just speechless upon seeing Halle as Ariel on the big screen. She looks at her mom in joy to say, “She’s brown like me, I’m so excited to see this movie.”

Twitter is also loving Halle for the role of Ariel!

Lee Rodriguez said, “Watching all of the videos on Tik Tok of young black girls blind reacting to the Little Mermaid trailer makes me so emotional. The joy in their eyes when seeing someone that looks like them as a princess on screen, goes to show why representation matters so much.” Another user @BlueWolfAngel28 tweeted, “Bro all these blind reactions on tik tok of little girls seeing the new little mermaid look like them is making me cry Idk it’s just making me emotional cause Ariel was my favorite princess as a kid and seeing them smile warms my heart.”

Designers take chances when creating looks for those invited to the Met Gala. Sometimes these creation are great but not every outfit is a work of art. Even if designer’s miss the mark, they are still some of the best in the fashion industry. Can’t wait until I get my own custom look.

“Treat Me” By Chlöe Bailey Finds Support From Tory Lanez

Tory Lanez loves the energy that Chlöe Bailey is bringing in her new music video. The love from Tory came days after Chlöe’s music video to “Treat Me,” hit the scene.

Tory praised Chlöe after she dropped the music video to Treat Me on August, 7th. Lanez went to Twitter to show support for a fellow artist, Chlöe.

“I love seeing Chloe Bailey not give AF…”- Tory Lanez

Chlöe is completely in sync with her body and the video doesn’t lack for sexiness. Additionally, Chlöe is giving her fans more to chew on in this video just like she did in the “Have Mercy” video. She is making it clear that the body she was born with is hers and she can show it off however she wants. Tory Lanez agrees with this 100 percent.

“Art is meant to be expressed however the artist wants it to be displayed”- Tory Lanez

According to NME, Treat Me samples Bubba Sparxxx’s hit “Ms. New Booty”. Chlöe is not scared to show her body off. A songs music video must match the song and this video did exactly that. Tory Lanez respects Chlöe for creating the art she wants to create without any worries.

Treat Me Music Video Breakdown

The “Treat Me” music video begins in black and white. Chlöe wears an all black tight fitted cat suit. Immediately, my mind went to Beyoncé and the “Single Ladies” music video. The black and white us very artistic. Next, Chlöe slides into a pool of honey while wearing a sexy gold bathing suit. The beat drops and the sexy shoots up to level 10. Chlöe rolls around on a glowing table, wearing another bathing suit covered in diamonds, showing all of her curves. The video ends with Chlöe going completely savage in a glass box as a sprinkler rains down on her. “ Chloe Bailey ‘did’ not give AF” in this video. Check it out below.

Fans are patiently waiting for the album to drop after getting a taste of “Treat Me.” Chlöe is gearing up to give the world a second dose.

Chloe Bailey’s Stunning ‘Em In Teaser Of “Treat Me!” Single

Fans have been awaiting a new release from Chloe Bailey since her 2021 release of “Have Mercy!’ But, per an announcement made by the artist, fans will not wait much longer.

On March 2nd Chloe Bailey hopped on Twitter to promote her upcoming single. Bailey was dressed to the gods with a diamond-studded ensemble. The only thing brighter than her future was the bling she wore in her “Treat Me! video teaser. The good news is the single will be available soon.

Bailey Flies Solo

In July 2021, Chloe Bailey began to spread her wings in preparation for a solo take-off with a debut on the VMA stage performing “Have Mercy!”. Although new to not sharing the spotlight, Bailey was not new to the stage. Chloe and Halle, an indomitable duo with a promising career, shared the scene a few times before. However, following “Have Mercy,” Chloe has found the rarefied air a boon and begun working on future projects. “Treat Me” will mark her second solo single. And given the success of her first solo release, the odds of finding mad success with the upcoming release are in her favor.

Chloe’s “Have Mercy.”

Chloe’s first single performed well on the charts. Her digital and streaming numbers were phenomenal, placing her firmly in the top five of the Billboards hot r&b. Additionally, “Have Mercy” managed to ascend to number twenty-eight on the Billboard 100. Both measures are undeniable markers of quality and recognition of the star’s talent. With a mass of fans in her corner, the expectation for repeat success is solid and worth watching.

Bailey’s Support

Chloe is already receiving an overwhelming show of support with the teaser out. One tweeter was all over the news,

“If she’s singing, I’m streaming!!! I love me some mf @ChloeBailey💙.”

According to a source, Bailey also got a couple of nods from her industry peers SZA and Muni Long to name a few. However, this is not an unexpected reaction. Expectations are high, and the teaser is lit, proving Beyonce could not have been righter when she spoke on Chloe and Halle’s potential.

Chloe, Halle, and Yonce

The two, Chole and Halle, sit under Yonce’s label. Beyonce is hugely proud of her discovery. She has always seen big things on the horizon for the two. In Yonce’s words

“They will be unstoppable in time. [Chole and Halle] both are extraordinary, as passionate, hard-working, super talented Artists that are growing every day!!!”

This is an irrefutable truth for both.

Chloe and Halle

What is impressive is Chloe and Halle’s support for each other when working apart. Halle was quick to speak on the strength of “Treat me,” She ensured the world knew where she stood with her sister.

“woo !!!!!!! They are not ready!!!!!!!!!.

No release date has been specified. However, fans can pre-save the song before it is released. Congratulations go out to Chloe, and well wishes on the success of her new project, “Treat Me!”

Gunna Premieres ‘You & Me’ Video With Chlöe Bailey On Valentine’s Day

In honor of Valentine’s Day, Gunna has released a video of his song “You & Me,” featuring Chloe Bailey, directed by Spike Jordan. This Valentine’s Day, Gunna did not just share the “DS4EVER” cut’s music video. In addition, the rapper released the Metro Boomin-produced single “Banking On Me.” Listen to it here.

‘You & Me’

This gave credence to already existing rumors that the two artists are dating. A portion of the footage captured during that excursion is in “You & Me.”

“DS4EVER” Album

Firstly, “DS4EVER” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart by selling 150,300 equivalent album units. Secondly, “Dawn FM” was second on the chart with 148,000 album-equivalent units. Thirdly, following Gunna’s release of “WUNNA” in 2020, “DS4EVER” was Gunna’s second No. 1 album. However, “Drip or Drown 2,” the rapper’s debut studio album, debuted at No. 3 on the chart. DS4EVER is Gunna’s latest entry in his Drip Season series. It was released on Jan. 7.

It features many guest appearances. Future and Young Thug on “Pushin.” Young Thug on “Mop.” 21 Savage on “Thought I Was Playing.” Kodak Black on “How You Did That.” Chlöe Bailey on “You & Me.” Lil Baby on “25K Jacket.” Future on “Too Easy.” G Herbo on “10K That Bitch.” Roddy Rich on “Miss Me Remix” and more.

Gunna Admired By Freddie Gibbs Despite Their Beef

It appears that Gunna and Freddie Gibbs engaged in a Twitter war before the release of DS4EVER after Gunna declared that “Freddie will have the biggest moment of his career” when the album drops.

Gunna laughed off the incident by sending a kiss emoji and a series of tweets addressing the “YSL” rapper. With an emphasis on how much he enjoyed Wunna’s appearance on “Crime Stoppers.” He then pointed out his upcoming album “SSS,” and how he loves Gunna’s music and thinks “he one of the best-making music so to be recognized by one of the best is a blessing.”

Stream Gunna’s “You & Me” music video featuring Chlöe in the video player above. The song samples Jon B’s “They Don’t Know” and Usher’s “Nice & Slow,” two tracks released in 1997.

Chloe Gives Memorable Rendition Of Her Hit Single “Have Mercy” On The Tonight Show

Beautiful as always, Chloe took over The Tonight Show on Tuesday. She gave a special rendition of her hit single, “Have Mercy.” Last night’s performance was a bit different from that of hers at the 2021 VMA’s. This performance gave a theatrical feel with live violinists in tow, ending on a very Chloetic note.

Who Is Chloe Bailey?

Chloe and Halle Bailey

Chloe Bailey is the older half of the sister duo Chloe x Halle. She has played in small roles in films such as Tyler Perry’s Meet The Browns, The Last Holiday, and Fighting Temptations. She and her sister Halle started a Youtube channel in 2011, where they did covers of different artists songs. In 2013, Chloe and Halle caught the attention of Grammy Award winning super star Beyonce, after uploading a cover of her song “Pretty Hurts.” Beyonce decided to sign the girls to her label, Parkwood Entertainment, and also served as their mentor.

Although there has been no official announcement of the duo splitting, Chloe is currently working on an untitled solo album. She said that the album is “definitely more pop. I’m creating my own lane, as well as paying homage to the ones who have inspired me. The singer said that working on the album on her own has been the most liberated and happy she’s ever felt. “I’m wrapping it up with such bad-bitch energy.” Chloe has already garnered nearly 5 million social media followers, and over 24 million views on Youtube of her video for her debut solo single, “Have Mercy”, since its release on September 10th.

Is Chloe The Next Beyonce?

Is Chloe The Next Beyonce

Chloe’s solo project has folks wondering if she will be the next Beyonce. It definitely isn’t far fetched. I mean she is the Grammy award winning superstar’s protege, with undeniable talent that is similar to that of Beyonce. The 23-year-old entertainer not only sings, but dances, plays instruments, produces music, and acts. She gives her all every time she hits the stage. She’s not new to this, she’s true to this. She began working in entertainment at a very young age, and so did Beyonce. After her debut solo performance of “Have Mercy” at the 2021 VMA’s many people undoubtedly noticed how she channeled Beyonce in her performance at the 2021 VMA’s, Chloe left many wondering if she was going to be the next Beyonce. So much that people started to share memes like the ones below, across social media.

https://twitter.com/theejadenj/status/1437233783552499715?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1437233783552499715%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_c10&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.etonline.com%2Fchloe-bailey-channels-mentor-beyonce-in-her-solo-debut-at-2021-mtv-vmas-watch-171731

Chloe did an interview with MTV news last month. She spoke about being compared to Beyonce. “It’s such a huge compliment,” the singer said. “B” has always been such a huge inspiration to me. For people to even say that that’s the vibe they get from me is a huge compliment in itself, because she’s a legend, she’s an icon.”We don’t know yet if Chloe will be the next Beyonce. Those are some pretty big shoes to fill. However, this young lady is beyond beautiful and talented, and could very well be up to the job. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Lil Nas X to Receive Backlash for New Album Tracklist, Resulting in a Feature with Kid Cudi

Lil Nas X’s new album is coming out on September 17th. In a short video posted on September 1st, the rapper revealed a new album tracklist. The author of Montero’s hit has recorded an eponymous album, which features Jack Harlow, Doja Cat, Elton John, and more.

Once out, Montero’s features faced criticism on Twitter. People were blaming the artist for not inviting any black male artists to the record. For example, @JiggleClayLTD tweeted: “Lil Nas X’s album has no black male guest lol. Just women & white men. No agenda tho.” In response, Lil Nas X assumed the problem might be that “a lot of them just don’t wanna work with me.”

https://twitter.com/JiggleClayLTD/status/1433157904815771648?s=20

Soon enough, Kid Cudi reached out to Lil Nas X and offered to “work w u and frolic in rose gardens w u singin about my pain.” Lil Nas X then said that “u heard it here first, everybody Kid Cudi x Lil Nas for montero deluxe.”

With a lot of attention in the media, the artist’s upcoming album is promising and keeps the fand excited. Now they also have a deluxe album version to wait for. People seem to be happy about the featuring too.

Before the Montero

Lil Nas X has been on the rise lately. He passed DaBaby as Spotify’s most-streamed male rapper, released an uncensored music video, and soon performing at MTV music awards.

Lil Nas X’s new album Montero was announced around two months ago. It’s repeating the name of the rapper’s spring hit song ‘Montero.’ Since then, he released a single called ‘Industry Baby,’ which later received the mentioned uncensored video.

Lil Nas X also left unsafe for work comments under Chloe Bailey’s tweet with pictures for Flaunt Magazine cover. The rapper wrote, “no disrespect but u need yo ass ate for this because wow.”

Lil Nas X Leaves Chloe Bailey Not Safe For Work Compliment

Chloe Bailey recently graced the cover of Flaunt magazine.

Her style and flavor wowed many fans there. One fan, in particular, Lil Nas X, had quite a bit to say. Lil Nas X was so taken with Chloe’s photos that he left a Not Safe For Work compliment on her Twitter feed. It’s a tweet you need to check out for yourself. Chloe dug what Lil Nas had to say and responded in kind. “Thank you boo,” the flustered “Grown-ish” star then answered, according to Aceshowbiz.com.

Trajectory to the Moon

It has been six years since Queen Bey signed Chloe Bailey and her sister, Hallie. Fast forward to 2021 though, and this power duo has proved hotter than ever. Recently, Chloe celebrated her 23rd birthday, and to add icing to her cake, she landed the cover of Flaunt magazine. The issue in which she graces the cover ran on August 18, 2021. And she looks stunning in Fendi.

Living the dream

Chloe has a truly remarkable life. She is not only succeeding in the music industry. She is doing exceptionally well on TV too. And now she’s tackling the big screen. “Up next, Chloe will star as Blake Holloway in Miramax’s supernatural thriller, The Georgetown Projectwith Russell Crowe and Ryan Simpkins,” a piece by Flaunt announced this month.

Chloe’s Growth

It’s no surprise that her beauty and picturesque stature on the cover of Flaunt received so many accolades. It is a beautiful thing to see her embracing who she is and becoming whole within the public eye. Earlier this year, after posting on social media, she was shocked by the negative attention she received online. In response Chloe said:

“And it’s really hard for me to think of myself as a sexual being or an attractive being quite frankly. So, when I see all the uproar about my posts and stuff, I’m a bit confused.”

But now she seems to be taking all the comments in stride, including the one from Lil Nas X.

Cardi B. Says the Lizzo Hate is ‘Mean & Racist as Fuck,’ I Agree!

Cardi B. is right. The Lizzo hate, “body shaming and callin’ her mammy is mean & racist as fuck.”

I, mean really…

If you haven’t been watching social media, upon the release of Lizzo’s collaboration with Cardi B. “Rumors,” there has been staunch criticism of Lizzo’s size, skin color and how she is marketed, especially to white people as a Black woman. The cruelty that followed the release of the video made Lizzo cry.

Lizzo is a beautiful, dark-skinned Black woman who is sex positive, proud of her larger figure and isn’t ashamed to be her authentic self. She doesn’t cower behind the beats, instead she rides on top of them and let’s you know she’s “100 percent that bitch.”

So Why the Lizzo Hate? Especially from Black People?

I expect the modicum of hate from white people, particularly white women like Nicole Arbour.

What I don’t understand is the hate she is getting from Black people who are always telling Black women to love themselves – yet when one does and becomes successful in the mix, they tear her down for it.

It Started With a Fatphobic, Colorist Tweet

One Twitter user, @TheFineFeminine, continued to liken her to the stereotype of the asexual grinning “Mammy,” whose “act is marketed” solely for “the white gaze.” Her tweet has since been deleted because, well, the ratio that followed. But Black Twitter has the receipts as always.

Ferris University calls Mammythe most well known and enduring racial caricature of African American women.” They go on to say “the mammy image served the political, social, and economic interests of mainstream white America.” Mammy’s smile and jubilation served as proof to the white gaze that Black women were content in their role as slaves.

That is not Lizzo.

Meet The Real Lizzo

Lizzo, who was initially hurt by the comments, came back for the haters late with knowledge. She schooled the haters on the negative history of the Mammy stereotype. She also ran down the list of other Black women in music, like Whitney Houston, who had crossover success and faced rejection from their own people as a result.

Why Lizzo Bothers People, Especially Black People, SO Much

I will never understand the hate America has for dark-skinned Black women who are of a larger size. But I do know where it comes from – internalized self hate as a result of generations raised under the thumb of white supremacy. We have learned as a people that we are not acceptable and therefore impart that inner turmoil on our brothers and sisters.

Black Women and Others Show Up for Lizzo

Black women came out in full effect to support, including many celebrities.

How Do We Support Artists Like Lizzo

When artists like Lizzo challenge the barriers of white supremacy in entertainment and in society, they deserve our love, our support and our show of faith. What they do not deserve is our scorn.

As for “Rumors,” the song is doing great according to a post from Cardi B. It is Top 10 in all major markets.

If you haven’t hear “Rumors” or seen the video, it’s worth a llook and listen.
