Rapper Lil Wayne Had An Ouch Moment In Game 7

Rapper Lil Wayne had an ouch moment in Game Seven of the  2022 NBA Playoffs . On May 15, Dallas Mavericks defeated the Phoenix Suns during Game 7 . It was a marvelous win for the Mavericks, owing its success to Luka Doncic. His performance in the game garnered world-wide attention through social media. By defeating one of the best teams in the  Mavericks showed the Suns exiting the playoffs. This defeat also teaches a lesson to Rapper Lil Wayne.

Lil Wayne called Luka a “ho”

However, apart from this game, one more sensational story going on behind this game. Lil Wayne, world famous rapper in the hip-hop music during Game 4 insulted Luka Doncic. Unimpressed by Doncic’s attitude on the court, Lil Wayne called him a “ho” on Twitter on May 8. His remark did not go well with the media and NBC fans. Doncic’s amazing performance on Sunday, scoring 35 points, along with 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals literally silenced Lil Wayne’s outrageous remark.

Fans blamed Wayne for Sun’s Defeat

After Maverick’s victory, fans took Twitter blaming Wayne for the Golden State Warriors’ loss in the game. Rapper Dizzy Wright added, “I blame lil Wayne for the way Luka acting right now lol sheeeeeeshhhhh.” Mavs owner Mark Cuban decided Wayne hadn’t suffered enough and chose violence on Monday when he tweeted out lyrics to Lil Wayne’s song, ‘Uproar,’ in a dig at the rapper, who was sitting courtside for the 33-point blowout.  Maybe, Weezy will think next time before he tweets about basketball, because there’s no question he messed with the wrong person”.

Wayne had a oops moment

Lil Wayne was also present in the Game 7. He was there to support his friend Chris Paul. According to ESPN’s Skip Bayless, “My brother Lil Wayne told me Friday he’d be there for Chris Paul this evening in Phoenix – and he’s right there in the front row. They have a deep connection from CP3’s days in New Orleans. I sure hope he inspires CP3 to snap out of his funk/slump.”

The moral of the story is one should never badmouth anyone in public platform. It always back fires. Lil Wayne blamed for the Sun’s unfortunate defeat!

Freddie Gibbs Accepts Boxing Match Against Akademiks

The beef can get rough. There’s no telling where rivalry ends and where actual malice begins. Take the Freddie Gibbs and Akademiks beef. What started out as a hot take by Gibbs spiraled into an all-out war of words, with Gibbs getting the upper hand. Though this only came after some severe back-and-forth action on Twitter and Instagram.

In short, Freddie Gibbs thinks Akademiks runs his mouth and can’t back it up, while the DJ rails against Gibbs for being too big for his britches.

However, in November, Gibbs took a severe step when posting alleged death threats against Akademiks on Twitter. Perhaps it’s a good time to strike a new deal with the iron hot: a celebrity boxing match.

Freddie Gibbs vs. Akademiks

During an interview on Million Dollaz Worth of Game, Akademiks said he would fight Freddie Gibbs if the money was right. Gibbs was quick to respond on Twitter with the following tweet:

For Freddie, money is not on his mind. Nor is the glory of defeating an opponent in the ring of honor. Instead, Freddie Gibbs wants Akademiks to retire. Appearing on ESPN’s Jalen and Jacoby, Gibbs made his goals clear:

“I don’t want no money. If I win, I just want Akademiks to delete his Instagram and delete his Twitter and leave the rap game.”

What’s more, the Indiana rapper feels good about his chances of coming out on top. “DJ Akademiks, I’m a solid 185 (lbs.),” Freddie Gibbs said. “DJ Akademiks a soft 204 (lbs.), so I think that we could make that fight happen.” Gibbs went on to say that the money from the fight could be donated to charity.

The Alfredo rapper also commented on his beef with Akademiks. In short, it’s not entirely serious, but it’s certainly not just for fun. Gibbs remarked, “It ain’t a real beef, I’ll say that.”

There is no word on dates, times, or prospects for the fight, but stay tuned. While no poll has been taken here at FMHipHop, I would hazard a guess that the staff’s money is on Gibbs.

ESPN’s Rachel Nichols pulled from sideline NBA Finals coverage

Rachel Nichols, reporter, and host of ESPN’s The Jump pulled from NBA finals coverage

ESPN’s Rachel Nichols has been pulled from her reporting duties covering the NBA Finals. This follows recent news of a leaked recording that surfaced of her making disrespectful remarks about her colleague, Maria Taylor. The controversy dates back to last year’s NBA Finals broadcast when ESPN management chose Taylor over Nichols to host.

A frustrated Nichols voiced her unhappiness at not being chosen in a phone discussion with LeBron James’ advisor Adam Mendelsohn. In one excerpt from the leaked audio, Nichols said “If you need to give her more things to do because you’re feeling pressure about your crappy longtime record on diversity — which, by the way, I myself know personally — like, go for it, just find it somewhere else,”.

An ESPN camera in Nichols’ hotel room in the NBA bubble captured the call on tape. The footage automatically uploaded to an ESPN video server.  It was there where the recording could have been accessed by any number of workers.

Response to the Controversy

On Monday’s episode of “The Jump,” a show she co-hosts on ESPN, Nichols apologized for her remarks.  “I also don’t want to let this moment pass without saying how deeply, deeply sorry I am for disappointing those I hurt, particularly Maria Taylor,” said Nichols.

The online response to the incident was intense, concentrating on both Nichols and ESPN. Jalen Rose’s daughter Mariah said, “Maybe instead of crying and calling Maria a diversity token, you could direct that energy to the people who think there can only be one woman on that stage.”According to a statement released by ESPN, Throughout the NBA finals Nichols will continue to host “The Jump,”. Yet, hours before Nichols was to host Tuesday’s episode of The Jump, ESPN canceled that day’s show. Reporter Malika Andrews will provide sideline reporting in lieu of Nichols throughout the Finals.

NFL plans to increase regular-season schedule to 17 games

The NFL is increasing its amount of regular-season games.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the NFL is in talks to expand its regular-season schedule from its usual 16 games to now 17 games.

Since 1978, the league has had 16 regular season scheduled games, which is the longest stretch without a change in league history.

But this current talk doesn’t make the NFL players happy.

Saints running back Alvin Kamara made his stance clear with a four-word tweet: “S— dumb as hell.”

Former Colts player Darius Butler voiced his opinion, saying that the League is again choosing money over player safety.

Players Torrey Smith and Geoff Schwartz both thought an extra game is a good move as far as fan engagement and revenue, but are also concerned about a potential increase in player injuries.

The NFL owners are expected to vote yes on the proposal during league meetings tomorrow and Wednesday of this week.
