Fetty Wap Arrested By FBI Before Rolling Loud Performance

Fetty Wap did not make it to his set at the Rolling Loud festival in New York. Notably, high-profile artists are headlining the event like J. Cole50 Cent, and Travis Scott. Unfortunately, Fetty missed his chance for this moment of long-awaited exposure.

According to TMZ, the law enforcement arrested the Trap Queen rapper on Thursday night at Citi Field. FBI arrested the rapper on federal drug-related charges. Suffolk County District Attorney Timothy Sini shared that Fetty and a dozen others allegedly distributed over 100 kilograms of cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, and crack cocaine across Long Island and New Jersey. Surprisingly, a New Jersey correction officer is expected to involve.

“The fact that we arrested a chart-topping rap artist and a corrections officer as part of the conspiracy illustrates just how vile the drug trade has become.”

Subsequently, FBI Assistant Director in Charge Michael J. Driscoll said in a statement.

Fetty’s troubling past

The now 30-year old has seen much success since his debut in 2015. However, this isn’t the rapper’s first run-in with the law. In 2017, the law enforcement arrested Fetty Wap for drag racing on a New York City highway. A list of other charges such as reckless endangerment, DWI, reckless driving, and aggravated unlicensed vehicle operation.

This incident had critics speculating that this was a re-enactment of his character in the video game; Fetty Wap: Nitro Nation Stories, released in 2016.

The rapper was also in the shooting that left three wounded. The court did not charge Fetty in that incident. In 2019, police arrested Fetty for an alleged attack on three Las Vegas hotel-casino workers. The charges have since been dropped.

Hoping for a positive outcome

Fetty Wap’s attorney, Navarro Gray, released a statement this morning praying for Fetty. “We pray that this is all a big misunderstanding. He sees the judge today. Hoping he gets released so we can clear things up expeditiously.” They are hoping for an arraignment today. Defense attorney Elizabeth Macedonio entered the not guilty plea on his behalf and accepted his continued detention.

Nonetheless, if convicted, those involved could face life in prison.
