His debut single, “Beautiful Girls,” became an instant smash, dominating airwaves that summer and cementing his place in the spotlight.

Kingston went on to leave his mark on the music industry, completing at least four albums and collaborating with major names like Jason Derulo, Chris Brown, and Wiz Khalifa. Leibowitz ordered the singer and his mother to pay $38,500 to a single victim identified as ‘B.C.’ A lump sum payment of $500 is due immediately, with Kingston required to pay 10% of his monthly gross income upon release until the balance is settled.

This is, without question, a sad affair—and a cautionary tale. What ultimately drove Kingston and his mother to engage in such actions may never be fully understood. Yet it points to a flawed mindset often tied to fame: the belief that success grants the freedom to act unethically or outside the standards expected of the wider community. The reality is sobering: stardom offers no exemption from accountability.

According to the BBC on September 8th, the body of a young woman named Celeste Rivas was found in the trunk after police responded to a foul odor at a tow yard where the vehicle was held. According to reports, the car had only recently been acquired and had been on the lot for just five days. The report notes,

“The car, which has a Texas license plate, was towed from the Hollywood Hills after it was abandoned five days earlier.”

Tragically, the body was discovered in a disturbing state. According to the medical examiner, the remains were not intact and appeared to have been there for an extended period, as reported by the BBC, citing law enforcement sources via NBC News. The discovery immediately fueled speculation surrounding D4vd, particularly in light of the circumstances of young Rivas’s disappearance, her alleged connection to the artist, and references tied to several of David Anthony’s projects.

DJ Akademiks further stoked the conversation on a recent podcast, where he suggested that D4vd was not the only artist with such troubling associations.

“I [know] three Chicago rappers y’all might consider ‘legends’ that was doing the same,” he remarked, referring to D4vd’s relationship with the underage Rivas before her disappearance.

However, Akademiks quickly tempered his claim, admitting he could not confirm the accuracy of the accounts. “I don’t know if these people were true. I don’t know the story if they lied about they age, it’s not for me,” he said, adding that since no police reports were filed, he didn’t see it as his place to intervene: “It wasn’t for me to talk about because nobody went to the police.”

Yet the investigation remains open, a fact emphasized by University Chief of Police Michael Peeler in a statement to Newsweek. Still, for many, the circumstances surrounding Reed’s death raise far more questions than answers—questions that can no longer be ignored.

The family of Trey Reed is outraged—and rightfully so. At present, they are fiercely demanding answers, with no intention of backing down. One of their chief concerns, beyond the devastating circumstances of his death, is the glaring absence of surveillance footage that could either confirm or dispel lingering doubts. From there, his career continued to ascend. However, not everything has been smooth sailing, and as an artist constantly in the public eye, he hasn’t always been able to escape the attention that comes with his actions.

Lil Nas X’s arrest followed a night marked by erratic behavior that drew public attention. When authorities tried to detain him, the situation quickly escalated into a tense confrontation. According to Yahoo Entertainment,

” Lil Nas X allegedly punched one officer “twice in the face”
