Brooklyn Rapper Fetty Luciano Faces Attempted Murder Charges Following Mansion Shooting

Looking at Fetty Luciano seems like NYC rappers can’t seem to catch a break.

According to ABC 7, officers arrested Brooklyn rapper Fetty Luciano on July 21. They reportedly arrested him following a triple shooting at a Long Island mansion pool party earlier in July.

Luciano turned himself in at the Glen Cove police station in Long Island, New York. He’s currently facing accusations of shooting three people at the pool party, also including a security guard. The 26-year-old is facing attempted murder and weapons charges, and he was arraigned on Jul 22.

A Shooting Goes Down At Mansion In Glen Cove, Long Island

ABC 7 reported that the incident went down at The Mansion at Glen Cove on Jul 10. Shots reportedly rang out near the front lobby of the property when a security guard tried to break up a fight between two individuals. Police described the scene as chaotic, as 150 to 200 were at the party when gunfire erupted.

Thankfully, paramedics brought the victims to the hospital, where medical professionals then treated them for non-life-threatening injuries.

Sources told the news outlet that The Mansion at Glen Cove didn’t have a permit to host an outdoor event. Glen Cove police added that although someone submitted an application to do so, no one signed the permit. However, a flyer for the party circulated online.

City’s Mayor Says The Shooting Was A “Shock”

“It’s a bit of a shock, yeah, it’s a surprise. This is just a beautiful venue. [The Mansion at Glen Cove] is used for high school reunions, weddings, fundraisers, for events, and things like this don’t happen here,” Glen Cove Mayor Pamela Panzenbeck also said.

Bobby Shmurda Spilled Tea On Having Oral Sex And Smoking Weed In Prison

Police arrested and sent 27-year-old rapper Bobby Shmurda to prison in 2016 for illegal firearms and conspiracy charges. However, the star was released exactly 10 months earlier than expected due to good conduct and cooperation while doing his prison time. He was in an interview with Variety recently, where he spilled some tea.

Shmurda Brief Historic & 2016 Arrestation

The rapper had quite a tough childhood. His father, Gervase Johnson, went to jail for a life sentence for attempted murder. Growing up, Bobby’s brother Jayese influenced him to start selling cracks. Moreover, both faced accusations of murder, attempted murder, drug trafficking, and holding weapons.

Already on a tough start, the songwriter later went under arrest at the studio Quad Recording. He then came under detention at the correctional facility. According to cops, Shmurda used to be the GS9 gang leader. Law enforcement held this circle accountable for several murders, gunfights, and drug trafficking.

Following this, Bobby Shmurda got a 7-year sentence in prison, later reduced to 5 years. The hip-hop star tried to draw back his plea after calling out his lawyer for having obliged him to take it. Finally, Bobby got out of prison on the 23rd of February 2021.

Shmurda’s Prison Adventures

Miami-born rapper killed time smoking weed and engaged in sexual activities during his time in lockup. He said he ain’t got nothing better to do.

“I got oral sex, didn’t get sex sex,” Shmurda said. “I’m too big to be doing all that other sh*t, ya understand?”

Furthermore, he said he had a lovely time compared to the psych ward, where he couldn’t enjoy all of that.

Fact: Shmurda was diagnosed with ADHD and ADD at 16 years old by his doctor, and only weed helped him deal with his mental disorder or at least cope.

Bobby even tried to set fire to the psych ward at 16 only because the security wouldn’t let him out. That’s quite some nerves. Alongside his little crack-up with guards, Shmurda also had lots of fun dancing with everyone. He played from Spanish to Jamaican music. He made sure not to lose his killing steps.

Before he was locked up, Shmurda gained a lot of fame in the hip-hop realm and soon skyrocketed with his single “Hot N*gga.” After his release, the rapper video “Shmoney dance” gained lots of attention on YouTube and other social platforms. He returned to the studio without losing time and completed his deal with Epic Records.

Lucky enough, he got into contact with Quavo and dropped the “No Time to Sleep” single alongside many more albums. The rapper fought through some bad times, but now, better days seem to be coming ahead, unlocking many opportunities for his career.

Rowdy Rebel Says Epic Records Hasn’t Paid Him Since 2014

Brooklyn, NY rapper Rowdy Rebel said he has not been paid by his label Epic Records since 2014. In a deleted Instagram response, Rowdy threatened to stop releasing music until he gets paid what’s owed, stating “I’m not dropping no more music until @epicrecords pay me.”

Rowdy signed his deal with Epic around the same time as his friends & label mate Bobby Shmurda. The GS9 duo was sentenced to federal prison for the rest of the 2010s decade alongside their GS9 group.

Rowdy & Bobby’s Struggle With Epic Records

Rowdy & Bobby took the industry by storm with several hot singles bubbling out of New York during their 2014 run. Since those releases, both artists openly shared how their label did very little to support them through their legal troubles. During his sentence, Epic Records dropped Rowdy from their roster but has resigned him since his release. While Rowdy Rebel has not been paid, Bobby is having issues with the creative control of his music. In a deleted Instagram post earlier this month he expressed, “I ain’t been in charge of my music since I was 19 years old and I just turned 27 and honestly idk when sh*t dropping so don’t ask me sh*t go ask them mf’s since they wanna control everything!!!!!!!”

Final Thoughts On Rowdy Rebel vs. Epic

We don’t have access to Rowdy Rebel’s newly signed agreement with Epic Records, but there’s no excuse for withholding what’s owed. Both Rowdy & Bobby have provided so much for the label since they originally signed in 2014. Hopefully, he can continue releasing singles or an album while these issues are getting sorted out.
