IDK Bringing New Album
IDK, short for “Ignorantly Delivering Knowledge,” has been a leader of the DMV rap scene for quite some time, if not THE leader. His 2019 album was titled with the question ‘Is He Real?’ It looks like we’re getting closer to the answer with this upcoming album being titled ‘USEE4YOURSELF.’
At first glance, this album seems like its going to be fairly serious. When announcing the album on Instagram, the caption reads “The idea of love is a complicated thing. It’s even more complicated for a black man in an environment that limits your vulnerability. I needed the truth to heal. I’m only now starting to see that.” The album cover matches this intensity. IDK takes up the space from the shoulders up with a calm pear-colored backdrop behind him. His face appears deep in thought, looking dead serious at the mouth but understanding and even hopeful at the eyes.
The album is already up for pre-order and set to release on July 7, 2021. The lead single, ‘SHOOT MY SHOT’ featuring Offset came out in April and is quite the heater. The Maryland MC also announced the song ‘Red,’ a highly anticipated single that is likely to appear the album. True Hip-Hop heads are excited about this one given the features of Jay Electronica, Westside Gunn, and a deeply coveted appearance from the late villain himself, MF DOOM.
With an increasing fan base, we’re hoping that ‘USEE4YOURSELF’ helps to push IDK’s relevance beyond the DMV and bring acclaim to himself and his region. Give ‘SHOOT MY SHOT’ a listen right here and pre-order the LP! We’re real excited for this one!
