While transitioning from football to acting may seem a stretch, it’s not for Rogers. In an interview with TMZ, Rogers revealed how he’s been pursuing acting since he was ten. And along the way, he’s nabbed a role or two. According to TMZ, Rogers appeared in a 2005 film alongside some big players in the film industry. Rogers is said to have assumed the role of a young Billy Dee Williams, acting alongside such names as Gabrielle Union, Zoe Saldana, Hill Harper, and Billy Dee himself in the movie Constellation. And that’s not small potatoes.
Rogers Seizes Opportunities
Rogers has directed much of his attention toward the NFL but has continued his pursuit of acting. And his current role in BMF serves as proof. According to Rogers, when he first got the part, he had low expectations regarding screen time. He went on to tell TMZ,
“I thought it was going to be one episode, one little scene,”
However, it turned out to be much more. He has been filming for six months and has had to turn down some NFL opportunities. Rogers went on to note,
“I’m in multiple episodes. My character continued to evolve. Throughout that time, I had to turn down almost ten different contracts from NFL to finish filming.”
One wonders, given such a decision, where his secret lies. How does he juggle both?

Detroit’s music scene looks more promising than ever as they prepare to hold “The Tied In 313 Day” concert. The event showcases the city’s vibrant hip-hop scene with performances from various native artists.
Organizers have set the event for March 13, at The Garden Theater. “Tied in 313 Day” is a creative play on the numbers on the event’s dates. The event organizer, Chanel Domonique spoke with The Metro Times, explaining the inspiration behind the event.
When asked about her inspiration for such an event, Domonique shared that she wanted to showcase and give a platform to Detroit’s celebrated artists. Before, Detroit marked 313 days by celebrating businesses.
“Given the current climate of the Detroit entertainment industry, its undeniable buzz, and national recognition, it was almost impossible to not shift the focus to Detroit’s very own talented individuals,” Domonique said. “Everyone involved with this show from east to west is Tied in with City of Detroit and reps 313.” She continued to remark on how these artists spent long days and nights working to be respected in the music industry.

Payroll Giovanni also spoke to the media outlet, sharing,
“313 day is important to me because it shows the growth in the Detroit music scene. We used to pay artists to let us open up for them and our sound wasn’t accepted by the masses. Now we’re doing our own concerts and we have different fan bases traveling from all over the world to see us.”
HaHa Davis and Justin Floyd will be hosting the show. Other artists set to perform are Babyface Ray, Jugg Harden, Peezy, Skilla Baby, and Front Paije. Active Minds and AFLN are presenting “Tied in 313 Day” with Shell Shock’d Tacos manning the catering. Black-owned cannabis brand Viola is also a sponsor.
Detroit rapper Kash Doll and Atlanta’s DJ Infamous have a new single “Bad Azz,” featuring Atlanta rapper Mulatto and New York rapper Benny the Butcher. The track is also co-written by Hitmaka and London Jae and produced by OG Parker and Smash David. Doing things her way, Kash doll represents for all the brown skin girls who may or may not get the chance to get to the music industry. With adding the breakout female rapper artist Mulatto, the self-proclaimed “Queen of the Souf” bodied her verse on this collaboration, while also adding sex appeal and raunchy lyrics to the visual. With bars like “I might f*** him and forget him, just like a n**** ” Mulatto continues to empower women by giving them confidence enough to treat him like he treats you.
Rapper Benn the Butcher, brings the song full circle as he closes out the song with his verse, bringing to light the male perspective about that rich and lavish lifestyle. Dj infamous makes an appearance in the video as well and shows us that DJ’s play an important role in the industry and artist should still collaborate with them for a fire track.
