The funeral program featured touching and memorable photos of Young Dolph. One shows him reading a book near a coffee table. The image is paired with a quote reading, “You get one shot at life, one life to live, make the most out of it, put as many smiles as you can on people’s faces, help as many people as you can.” In another photo, we see him & his grandmother photographed smiling brightly on a private jet. According to FOX13 reporter Jeremy Pierce, “The picture of him and his grandmother on what I’m told by a family friend is the first time she ever flew.”

Dolph’s Tragic Death
Before Dolph’s shooting, he had stopped at Makeda’s, a favorite local spot, to buy cookies for a family member. Dolph, a pillar in his local community, had stopped in town for his annual Thanksgiving turkey giveaway later that day. All in all, much speculation remains on who was behind this violent act against a hometown hero. Unfortunately, the investigation remains open. However, authorities have connected a white Mercedes-Benz linked to Dolph’s attack to multiple other shootings in the area.
Moving forward, the hip-hop world will forever feel the hole Young Dolph left behind. His life, legacy, and passion for giving back will endure long beyond his lifetime. To read more about Young Dolph, explore FMHipHop’s retrospective articles.
