Drake and Nicki Minaj Enjoy Their Jordan Deals

Young Money/Cash Money Records must have something on the Jordan company.  The label’s biggest artists continue to have shoe deals with the historic brand.  Drake has been creating sneakers combining his OVO logo with the Jumpman logo for years.  And Nicki Minaj will work more with the basketball company.  It’s clear that Michael Jordan and his company enjoy having two of the biggest musical acts in the world on their team!  Also, Drake feels the same way.

Run It Back

The Champagne Papi expresses his feelings about the sneaker company on Instagram.  The Her Loss rapper posted a photo of his Jordan 10s. Also, pointing out that legendary comedian Jerry Seinfeld signed them.  In the caption, the 6 God wrote, “run back my Jordan deal”.  It’s safe to say he is happy making deals with Michael Jordan.  Additionally, Drake is doing big things in the clothing sector.  He has his own NOCTA brand with Nike as well.  As he has always said, most of his moves are calculated.  And the “In My Feelings” rapper is known to take jabs at people who are not his friends.  Could linking up with Nike and Jordan be a snipe at Ye?  Ye is not associated with any clothing brand at the moment.

Nonetheless, Nicki Minaj has been working with the Jordan brand a little longer than her labelmate has.  The 40-year-old rapper has worked with the prominent brand throughout the 2010s!  When she released her album, The Pinkprint in 2014, Nicki requested that many sneakers be made to celebrate the project.  Unfortunately,  sneakers never hit stores, a few fans were able to get their hands on them.  Recently, a photo of a pair of sneakers circulated through social media.  They were the Air Jordan 6 Lows in “Barbie Pink”.  Fans online couldn’t get enough.  Also, the Jordan brand should think about releasing these sneakers, possibly a limited edition?  The Barbz would be excited.

“Fresh Prince” begged Michael Jordan to wear his shoes

The popular, comedic, and sensational hit series of the 90s, “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” featured Will Smith who claims to have once begged Michael Jorden to allow his character to wear his shoes.

Smith always aimed for the “Fresh Prince” to have the best kicks on the show, especially because culture and style became vastly ideal as a part of the 90s and the series. A memorable moment that fans and sneakerheads reflect back on is Will either wearing the most popular or newest Jordans.

Connecting with Michael Jordan

 

Smith grew fond of always wearing the latest shoe and decided to reach out to none other than Michael Jordan himself, according to Basketball Network. Unfortunately, MJ said no.

 

Featured in an interview from ShowTime’s, All The Smoke, Smith says, “I was living the culture. I was literally calling Jordan like ‘Mike, please, please don’t give them to nobody. Let me be the first person, I gotta be the first person to wear it’. And he was like ‘Man, I don’t run that’.”

To show how adamite Smith has become to be a part of Jordan’s brand he showcases not one pair of Jordan’s but two!

 

In the pilot episode, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is wearing Air Jorden 5 Metallic Retro and in the season finale, he is wearing the Air Jordan 11 Columbia.

Seeing how inflexible Smith is set off to be a part of Jordan’s brand exemplifies his dedication and they bring him on board. Smith previously said during this time he was unaware of Nike releasing a variety of colorways solely under his character name; “Fresh Prince.”

 

In 2013, the spotlight focuses on the “Grape” colorway without laces following a second pair dropping, and lastly, a final pair dropped in 2020.

 

Throughout the memorable series, the “Fresh Prince” celebrated the collaboration by wearing over thirty pairs of Air Jordan’s.

Son Of NBA Legend Scottie Pippin Signs With The Lakers

Scottie Pippin Jr. agreed to play for the Los Angeles Lakers for the upcoming 2022-2023 NBA season. Basketball fans are watching with intense curiosity as the NBA Draft and Free Agency begin to affect their favorite teams. Off-season is a time of great concern for basketball fans as it is a time for teams to either rebuild, retain greatness, or horrendously fail. In short it is great indicator as to how a team might perform in the upcoming regular season.

Rebuilding After Failure

One team that many fans are watching with great scrutiny is the Los Angeles Lakers. The team performed poorly last season. The team led primarily by former MVPs Lebron James and Russell Westbrook failed to make a postseason appearance. What made this sting even worse for fans was the lack of draft picks held by the team, meaning rebuilding options remained limited for the team. However, one legacy asset came to LA today.

The Specifics

 Scottie Pippin Jr signed a two-way deal with the Lakers. A two-way deal means that the Vanderbilt player will primarily play on the Lakers’ G-League affiliate team, the South Bay Lakers, but can be brought up to the main team as they see fit. Jr. is the son of Chicago Bulls legend and former Michael Jordan teammate Scottie Pippin. This most certainly is an emotional high for the young player. Not only is he going to follow in his father’s footsteps as a professional basketball player, he is also going to play for his hometown team. The young man is a native of LA.

More Legacies 

That was not the only legacy player brought on. The Son of four-time NBA champion and former Laker, Shaquille O’Neal, Shareef O’Neal signed with the Lakers for the upcoming NBA Summer League. Following that he celebrated with a tweet. With the new signings and ongoing rumors of All-Star Kyrie Irving potentially joining the squad it is certainly an interesting if uncertain time for the Lakers and the team’s many fans.

Today Forbes announced that legendary golfer, Tiger Woods, achieved an estimated net worth of over one-billion dollars.  Tiger Woods now stands among the most elite and successful athletes in sports history.  Tiger finds himself joining Michael Jordan and Lebron James as one member of the trinity of billionaire athletes.

The four time Master’s Tournament winner achieved this significant milestone mostly thanks to his entrepreneurship off of the green.

In recent years Tiger Woods has seen financial success in his company TGR Design, a firm specializing in the development of golf courses.  Course design has become a prominent post golf career for many professionals in the sport.  Tiger is notable for working with his TGR company while still touring.

The news of Tiger Woods’ billion dollar net worth is also notable has he accomplished this incredible feat without assistance from the upcoming Saudi Arabian professional golfing circuit, the LIV Tour.  The LIV Tour has made waves in the golfing world in recent weeks.  In part because the tour has drawn many famous PGA players away with lucrative deals.  Tiger Woods was one of the few to turn down the offer.  

A Phoenix Rising

Such good news coming from Tiger’s camp is a welcome change of pace.  For the last year and half the golfer experienced no shortage of difficulties. First in February of last year came the horrific car crash.  Which put serious doubt on his ability to keep playing.  However, he miraculously recovered and made appearances in two majors this year.  These appearances were followed by underwhelming performances.  He had to withdraw play from the PGA Championship after he posted his worst round of professional golf in his career.  

Despite of all these setbacks as of late Tiger Woods continued to make the kinds of sound financial decisions that brought him to his current state.  Through numerous brand deals with Nike, Monster Energy, and TaylorMade plus his consulting course work he has become one of the most financially successful athletes in the entire history of the sporting world.

Michael Jordan, the NBA legend, has once again become a meme following the NBA All-Star weekend. During the Charlotte Hornets owner’s appearance on camera, he was caught lightly touching the backside of R&B icon Mary J. Blige.

50 Cent Jokes About The NBA Legend and ‘No More Drama’ Singer’s Situation

A video clip of that interaction went viral on social media as a result. In fact, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, the creator of the Power franchise, has even come up with a few of his puns about the NBA legend and MJB butt-tapping moment.

He also shared another meme of the moment on Tuesday, writing, “See just when we thought it was all fvcked up. LOL.”

This post depicted an image of the NBA legend with the Grammy-winning singer as well as a caption that poked fun at the character Mary J. Blige played on Power Book II: Ghost.

Commentaries Are Amusing, According To Celebrities

There is no indication whether Jordan or Blige found the trolling humorous, but DaBaby seemed to enjoy it. As a response to 50 Cent’s comments, he replied with the words “go head bruh” together with a few laughing emojis.

Accordingly, Mary J. Blige portrays Monet in Starz’s 50 Cent-produced television series. In Power Book II: Ghost, Monet is intertwined with basketball player Ezekiel “Zeke” Cross (Daniel Bellomy) and drug dealer Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.).

50 Cent’s Appearance At The Super Bowl Sparks Body-Shaming Comments On Social Media

Mary J. Blige and 50 Cent performed at another significant sporting event earlier this month. For the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show, the NFL chose Mary J. Blige, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, and Anderson.Paak.

Fans were delighted to see 50 Cent perform at the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show as he brought back his signature upside-down move, as seen in his “In Da Club” video. On Instagram, the New York MC offered some humorous commentary on his experience following the performance.

After watching the rapper’s performance, fans thought it was humorous to mock his weight and photoshop 50 Cent on Instagram with an overweight individual.

Few things escape the eyes of the media as recent clamor over a recent photo of Michael Jordan, and Mary J Blige proves.

The word is, a photo can tell a thousand stories, although they have no voice to speak. However, it is not the photo; instead, what the beholder derives from the photo that says everything. Today Michael Jordan’s photo with Mary J. Blige is front and center and getting lots of attention.

A Fine Line between Scandalous and Innocent

At a recent All-Star Game, the G.O.A.T. took a moment to congratulate the Queen of Hip hop Mary J on her stellar half-time performance. However, his show of gratitude got a little too personal for many. Once the photo was taken and made its way to the media, it quickly went viral.

Jordan’s Posture

In a video, Jordan’s hand is in a most inappropriate place. To add insult to injury, social media’s “private investigators,” cased the entire video. Bingo, they zeroed in on Jordan’s face as his hand is placed precariously near Blige’s butt. His hand doesn’t appear to be on the singer’s backside; it is near her butt as he leans in for a hug.

In a still photo on the same night, Jordan poses between Vanessa Bryant and Mary J. Blige. Once again, his hand is placed near Blige’s backside. But, to make matters worse, his hands are not placed in the same position on Bryant, leading some to form their conclusions.

And the Crowd Goes Wild Over Jordan and Mary

All it takes is one brush to start a large fire. The masses immediately started speculating. One question emerged: whether the two had romantic ties in the past. Although not one of the gawkers was in the picture, they had a lot to say. The primary insulation was that Mary J. was enjoying the attention. One social media  poster stated,

“She is living her best life, and I’m here for it. Go, Mary!”

Others speculated on Michael Jordan’s intentions. Another poster said,

“Big Mike working on Mary.”

What’s Fame Got to Do with It!

Fame has everything to do with it. No matter how you move, you can potentially find yourself making front-page news. So, fame is not for the faint at heart. We don’t know what Michael’s intent was or if there was even anything to make a noise about. Looking at the photo, his hand looks close to the Queen’s backside, but is not firmly on her backside. While all appears harmless fun for most to speculate on, there are some other things to consider. One essential factor is the N.B.A. Legends family. Jordan is married with kids. No, we do not know the details of their relationship. But, we do know what can happen when things are blown out of proportion. Let’s hope nothing follows.

Like all things which may cause a stir, publicists leap into action to advise, clean or clear things up. So, we’ll be on watch to see if Mary or Michael addresses the nature of these photos anytime soon. If they do remember F.M. Hip Hop, we got you.

KEY GLOCK CONTINUES TO MOURN YOUNG DOLPH BY VISITING EPIC MURAL IN L.A.

Key Glock is still paying his respects toward Young Dolph after his tragic passing in November.

On January 3rd, 2022, the Yellow Tape rapper posted a picture of himself standing in front of a Young Dolph mural. The said mural is in Los Angeles, California. Juan Pablo Reyes, who previously painted Nipsey Hussle and Kobe Bryant, created the said mural.

He signed to Young Dolph’s label Paper Route Empire in 2017.

They have two mixtapes together titled  Dum and Dummer in 2019 and Dum and Dummer 2 in 2021. Both projects peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 chart. Following Dolph’s death, Glock broke his silence on Instagram. He said in a story post, “STOP asking me if I’m ok knowing damn well I ain’t.”

Later on, he labeled Dolph as his “brother, cousin and mentor” and compared their relationship to Michael Jordan and Phil Jackson.

“damn bro, im LOST,” he wrote. “my heart is torn, my brain is bout to explode. It HURTS when I breathe..why did you leave me so soon?? I’ll never be the same. You were my lefthand man, brother, cousin, mentor, and drink partner for the past two years. I’ve been taking LOSS AFTER LOSS and still can’t understand why. First, it was my pops, auntie, grandma, and now YOU!! I know we can’t question GOD but GOD, why?! There’s nothing no one can do or say to bring you back, and that shit eats me up by the second!!”

Young Dolph was shot and killed in Memphis at Makeda’s Cookies. He was picking up cookies for his mother. A white Mercedes-Benz allegedly pulled up to the shop and opened fire, killing Dolph at the scene.

Travis Scott Spotted Golfing With Michael Jordan & Mark Wahlberg

Travis Scott was spotted outside for the first time since the tragic Astroworld incident. Scott reportedly had not left his home in Houston in any public way since Astroworld. However, he was able to escape the grief for a little bit on November 23. He went to SoCal to golf with some big wig friends. The people that he golfed with were Michael Jordan, Mark Wahlberg, Kris Jenner’s boyfriend, Corey Gamble, as well as Said Taghmaoui.

 

Witnesses spotted the famous trio Tuesday on the course attached to the gated Palm Springs-area community where Jenner has a home, according to TMZ. Scott still looked somber in some of the pictures taken of him. There is no escape from the pain he feels about the tragedy.

 

Twitter is mixed on this outing. Some people are seeing it as in bad taste for Scott to be trying to enjoy himself, while others are seeing it as a momentary escape from it all.

This outing was just two days after he has gotten two more lawsuits filed against him. Both of them are from security guards that worked at Astroworld. They both want $1 million in damages. These lawsuits will probably be dropped.

According to his attorney, Ed McPherson, Scott was not aware of the scope of casualties until several hours after the show. He has since promised to pay all funeral expenses for the Astroworld victims. He is also providing free therapy treatment for survivors in partnership with the mental health organization BetterHelp.

Finding refuge in a tragic time

Astroworld was a terrible incident that had traumatized thousands of people. Travis Scott is among them. Having fun and being with friends is a healthy way to deal with the trauma. It would be a shame if he was shamed away from these therapeutic actions.

With Thanksgiving just days following the outing, Scott was in the right place to spend the holidays with his and Kylie Jenner’s family.

Space Jam: A New Legacy Soundtrack to Feature Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Baby

The new Space Jam film will feature a star-studded soundtrack.

We are less than a month from the premiere of Space Jam: A New Legacy. The sequel to the 90’s classic will feature LeBron James teaming up with Looney Tunes characters in a basketball epic for the new school.

Of course, the original Space Jam had an iconic soundtrack. It featured the likes of D’Angelo, Seal, Busta Rhymes, and more.

LeBron is looking to continue the trend.

The soundtrack for the new film has an equally impressive list of features. Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Baby, Chance The Rapper, and Lil Wayne are among the highlights.
