N.O.R.E.’s  Tweets as Talk Of The Town in Hip-Hop Society

N.O.R.E.’s recent comments are the talk of the town. In particular, Hip-Hop society. The Breakfast Club, a radio show hosted by Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee, and DJ Envy, scrutinized N.O.R.E.’s Tweets.

DJ Envy said, “I do agree with what Noreaga was saying. I will say one thing about Cardi — Cardi does a lot of the things that a lot of artists won’t do. She goes to a lot of those places, so I doubt he was talking to Cardi.”

N.O.R.E. Disillusioned With Modern Rappers

Queen-born American Hip-Hop artist Noreaga, also known as N.O.R.E., was disillusioned with many modern rappers. He chose Twitter to express his agony on May 25, Wednesday. Miffed with various rap singers because they chose mainstream media to do interviews, N.O.R.E took to Twitter to display his dejection.

N.O.R.E. Is Not Happy With Cardi B

“I have been the best to this culture I have always put hiphop first,” N.O.R.E expressed. “I see u guys go to Ellen and David letterman’s and Zane lows and treat them wit more respect then the culture but u say u want black excellence.”

N.O.R.E. reportedly despised the recent episode of Cardi B with David Letterman on his latest Netflix series, “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.” Moreover, a week before, Sean Diddy Combs appeared on “The Ellen Degeneres Show.”

N.O.R.E On David Letterman, Ellen, and Oprah

However, N.O.R.E. clarified that his Twitter rant did not target Cardi B. or David Letterman as he loved both. “Love it wasn’t even talking or thinking bout cardi but love the article,” N.O.R.E stated. “David letterman is my favorite but man why go there or Ellen before million dollars worth of game or joe or the champs or even twitter s–t!!!”

He continued, “Imma be honest even going to Oprah or gal is trash at this point !!! We control our in culture why go outside of it!!!”

Hip-Hop Culture Driven by Individual Experience

N.O.R.E, along with DJ ENF, hosts one of the popular podcasts known as “Drink Champs.” They already interviewed artists and entertainers such as Kanye West, A$AP Rocky, Snoop Dogg, Remy Ma, and others who shared exciting events of their lives.

Hip-Hop or rap culture is always driven by individual personal experiences. Rap artists tend to share their life events straight from the heart in the form of songs and lyrics. As N.O.R.E said, “We control our culture; why go outside of it!!!”

A$AP Rocky Says Travis Scott Stole Style

A$AP Rocky has been ramping up his public image as of late. He is making his rounds around the hip-hop community. One of his stops will be on N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN’s podcast Drink Champs.

Drink Champs Promo Video Is Released

The promo video dropped giving us a preview of what we should expect from the episode. Some of the topics being covered will be Kanye West complimenting A$AP on his style, meeting Fabolous, being a father, directing, marriage, Jay-Z, and the controversial topic of Travis Scott hijacking his style.

N.O.R.E. ask, “Travis Scott stole his whole style from A$AP Rocky? Before N.O.R.E. finished his question Pretty Flacko says, “Yeah.” Then, once N.O.R.E. finishes the question he replies again, “Yeah.”

The History Of The Style Beef

This isn’t the first time the topic of Travis Scott stealing A$AP Rocky’s style has come up. A Complex writer reveals that A$AP Nest called out Travis Scott for jacking the A$AP crews style. According to HipHopDX, Rocky addresses the topic in a Hot 97 interview back in 2016.

“Let the people decide if he a biter or if he authentic… I feel like that whole situation sound petty” – A$AP Rocky Hot 97 interview

Drink Champs will dive deeper into this issue. N.O.R.E. is great at getting to the bottom of things. Once rappers are comfortable and under the influence of alcohol, they tend to open up more than usual. This is the same show where Kanye West said signing Big Sean was his biggest mistake, and where The Game said Kanye has done more for him than Dr. Dre. Therefore, I expect A$AP to give more insight on the Travis Scott stealing his style topic.

Both Travis Scott and A$AP have declared that the fans should cool it on the style beef but we will see how Rocky feels about it at this point.

The full interview debuts on REVOLT on Thursday (May 12) before arriving on YouTube on Saturday (May 14).

Alicia Keys Smokes Blunt, Picks Rappers, and Tells Stories on “Drink Champs”

In this year alone, the hit show Drink Champs has racked up some memorable moments. Artists like French Montana, Wale, Krayzie Bone, Ghostface Killah, and Raekwon have all made rounds. Most notable is perhaps the Kanye West visit. Extremely quotable, surprisingly insightful, and tons of chaotic fun, this one got viewers hooked. Their newest one will certainly give the Ye episode a run for its money, courtesy of special guest, Alicia Keys.

No coughing for Alicia Keys

The fifteen-time Grammy winner pulled no punches. She met hosts N.O.R.E and DJ EFN every step and every drink of the way. Indeed, even when it came to lighting up. When offered a primo blunt by her hosts and told it was fresh from “the mountains of Austria”, Alicia Keys just smiled and replied, “I would prefer the Dominican Republic.” Even so, Keys settled on a European one. However, she did have a concern: coughing. As she said, laughing:

“So… I’m not gonna be coughing and sh*t – I don’t wanna be coughing.”

Nevertheless, she struck up to the applause and cheers from the studio and her hosts. From there, the stories and takes came pouring out.

Keys impersonated her husband, Swizz Beatz, when explaining the roots of Verzuz.

Then came the takes, played in a game of “Truth or Drink”. Suffice to say, Alicia Keys has no problems with telling the truth when it comes to rappers. In short: Wayne over Drake, Scarface over Ice Cube, Outkast over Mobb Deep (though she said that was a hard one), and the big one, Ye over Pharrell. As Keys says, “Big love to Ye.”

It’s safe to say that Alicia Keys had an absolute time on Drink Champs. The entire episode, some two-and-a-half hours long, is up to watch. Earlier in the show, Keys went into detail about a particularly bizarre episode at the 2009 VMAs. Performing “Empire State of Mind” with Jay-Z, Keys says she was too in the zone to notice Lil Mama crashing the performance. Check it out here.

Dame Dash Says Kanye West Only Roc-A-Fella Artist To Show Him “Proper Respect”

There is plenty of respect to go around in the rap world. The roots run deep and the influences can stretch for decades. Yet, it can also be a hard thing to come by. Much as it may be deserved, sometimes it isn’t given. Even if you happen to be a co-founder of the legendary Roc-A-Fella Records. In which case, you’d be Damon “Dame” Dash.

Speaking recently on The Bootleg Kev Podcast, Dash said that he finally received that “certain kind of respect”. It came from of all places, a tipsy Kanye West.

Ye toasts to Dash

Yeezy’s hyper-popular Drink Champs appearance featured the rapper diving into all sorts of topics. Cows, Vladimir Putin, freeing Larry Hoover, and mental health all got their time. When co-host N.O.R.E asked Ye who ran Roc-A-Fella better, Jay-Z or Dame Dash, the response was instant. According to West, it was Dame. “Absolutely, one thousand percent, Dame Dash,” West said. “Dame Dash the visionary.”

Responding to West’s comments on Bootleg, Dash had nothing but good words for Ye.

“…what I will say about Kanye is he’s the only one, on a real level, that’s given me a certain kind of respect. The only one…”

But don’t think it’s a big name giving props to a smaller name. The men have a history together. After all, West began producing for Roc-A-Fella back in 2000, under the wing of RAF co-founder Jay-Z. In 2001, Dash reluctantly signed West as a rapper, just to keep him from going anywhere else. Dash must have seen something he liked in Kayne, because around this time he began to heavily promote West as an up-and-comer. 2003 comes, and Ye drops “Through The Wire”, followed by The College Dropout. The rest is history.

As Dash went on to say: “And it doesn’t matter because he’s the biggest one, right? He’s the only billionaire in the whole crew. It’s funny, you know? He’s the only one to pay proper respect, and he’s always been that guy.”
