Cardi B Makes Return To Social Media

Cardi B has made her return to social media after deactivating her accounts last week. The “WAP” artist took a break from social media after clashing with a few of her fans on Twitter.

Members of the Bardi Gang were upset over Cardi B’s absence from the Grammy Awards ceremony. This resulted in a few comments toward the superstar’s children, which didn’t go unnoticed by Cardi.

“I’m deleting my Twitter On God I hate this fu**ing dumb*** fan base,” Cardi said at the time. “You got the slow dumba***s dragging my kids all cause y’all [thought] I was going to the Grammys and I didn’t the fu**?.”

Shortly after the disagreement, Cardi B explained her decision to delete her Twitter account on Instagram live.

“Why would I show up with one nomination?,” the rapper questioned. “And I lost it anyways, so you wanted me to go to the Grammys, lose an award, and me just be there smiling like, ‘That’s great, that’s great’. Like, come on now my ni**a.”

Cardi B’s social media presence

Cardi B’s return to social media comes right before her collab with Kay Flock, “Shake It,” drops on Friday. A seven-second clip from the track’s music video has gone viral on social media over the last few days. A clip of the song has reached almost 6 million views on Twitter.

This year, Cardi B has also collaborated with Summer Walker and SZA on “No Love (Extended).” As a solo artist, Cardi hasn’t released a single since 2021’s “Up.” 2021 also saw the Bronx rapper team up with Normani and Lizzo for “Wild Side” and “Rumors,” respectively.

As of this morning, Cardi B’s verified social media pages are online once again. The Invasion of Privacy artist currently has 17 million followers on Twitter and 127 million followers on Instagram.

Normani and Doja Cat Collab Possibly In The Works

There could be a Normani and Doja Cat collab in our future. At Billboard’s Women in Music event Wednesday, Normani took to the red carpet and talked about presenting an award to Doja Cat. “She’s dominated the industry and taken over every inch of it in a matter of two years,” she said. “I just really, really appreciate her work ethic.”

As she spoke to Chelsea Briggs, Normani spotted Doja off-camera. In the middle of talking about her list of dream collaborations, Doja comes over to join the pair. She expressed her happiness at having Normani present her with the award. Briggs said, “I think you guys should do a collab together.”  Normani said they talked about it, while Doja agreed, saying, “We should.”

These Women Make Hits and History

After the split of girl group Fifth Harmony, Normani is making moves. In 2018, “Love Lies“, her collaboration with Khalid, debuted at no. 43 on the Billboard Hot 100. This is the highest debut for a solo girl group member in history. The following year, she became the fastest solo artist to hit one billion Spotify streams with no album out. The singer also scored herself her first No. 1 on Billboard’s Mainstream R&B/Hip Hop Airplay chart with “Wild Side” featuring Cardi B.

Doja Cat is making a name for herself as well. Her albums “Hot Pink” and “Planet Her” earned her eleven Grammy nominations. In 2020, her disco hit “Say So” became her first RIAA-certified platinum hit. The following year, she became the female rapper with the most monthly listeners on Spotify. She also broke a Guinness World Record alongside Nicki Minaj by being the first female rap duo to hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100. As of fall 2021, “Planet Her” is currently eligible to be certified platinum in the U.S.

Normani presented the Powerhouse award to the “Say So” singer and rapper, who joked about breaking her award to access the designer jewelry inside. No word yet as to what a Normani and Doja Cat collab track would sound like, but if it happens, it will be a triumph for fans of both artists.

Cardi B Says She Felt Suicidal Following STD Rumors

Cardi B is in the midst of a vicious legal battle involving gossip YouTuber Tasha K. The rapper took the stand yesterday in front of a federal jury, saying she felt “extremely suicidal”.

Cardi gets candid

According to TMZ reports early Thursday morning (Jan.13), the ‘WAP’ artist had an emotional testimony in response to claims of contracting HSV, prostitution, and abusing drugs made by Tasha K. Tasha K, also known as Latasha Kebe, is a prolific gossip YouTuber with over a million subscribers and averaging tens of thousands of views per video.  This isn’t the first time Tasha’s words have landed her in some legal trouble. Back in Dec 2019, the parents of R. Kelly victim Joycelyn Savage fired back at Kebe after allegations of them “giving” their daughter away to the RnB singer. The two may have dropped their defamation case but the gossip blogger must still face the music.

On the fourth day of the trial, the Bronx artist confessed she felt “defeated and depressed” upon seeing several blog posts circulating concerning her sexual health and sobriety. Cardi first took legal action against the gossip blogger back in April 2019. The $75,000 defamation of character lawsuit was concerning dozens of YouTube videos containing baseless rumors about Cardi and her daughter Kulture. One video published by Kebe in April 2018 alleged Kulture was suffering from a severe learning disability.

Will this change the gossip scene?

Tasha K has reported extensively on Cardi in particular, most recently stating the rapper is gang affiliated and had Blood gang members tracking down her suburban Atlanta home. The controversial YouTuber filed a $3 million countersuit against Cardi, using the alleged intimidation to claim the rapper caused her to flee her residence and fear for her safety. In July, this case was thrown out by the judge due to insufficient evidence. This left Tasha K to deal with the initial suit.

Cardi took the opportunity to open up on how the rumors and subsequent trial have impacted her mental health, “…I didn’t want to sleep with my husband.” she said.

“I felt like only a demon could do that s**t.”

She reportedly broke down in tears, continuing to explain how the rumors made her feel like taking her own life.

This impactful testimony came with an equally stunning confession by Tasha K. According to Law360, Kebe admitted to the jury lies were published about Cardi in order to garner money and attention to her business, YouTube channel, and blog. This follows an expensive and lengthy battle in court and months of doubling down on her initial claims.

The trial and emotional fallout brings up the important question of how far is too far when reporting celebrity gossip. While Cardi is no stranger to publicly fighting for her respect, many celebrities despite how malicious a rumor may be, avoid confrontation as to not bring more attention to it. This, combined with the evolution of social media and the internet, has created an environment for false rumors to thrive.

With Cardi’s honest testimony and Tasha K’s confession, this trial may set a new precedent for celebs and bloggers alike.

The trial will commence Jan. 18.

Baby Keem Announces New, “Very Personal” Music Coming Soon

Baby Keem is back. Riding the high of his recently released debut album, The Melodic Blue, the rapper performed a fiery rendition of “family ties” on the BET Hip Hop Awards stage on Monday. Now, it seems Keem might have even more new, “very personal” music on the way.

In a BET Red Carpet interview with Complex News, Keem first discussed his excitement over The Melodic Blue’s long-time coming release. “It’s been a long process working on this for 2, 2-3 years now even,” Keem said. “It feels like I just had a baby damn near.”

Keem Gets Personal

But even in his new-baby bliss, Keem said he’s ready to get back in the studio soon. “Right now I’m on a little mental break,” he said in another interview with Seleah Simone. “But we going back in, we going to work on some new sh*t very soon.”

Keem hinted that future music will dive further into his “personal, humble beginnings.” When asked which tracks off The Melodic Blue are most special to him, Keem shouted out two of the rawest, most emotional tracks, “issues” and “scars.”

“That’s kind of where I want to go in my career, really share myself to the world,” he told Complex. “I got a little personal on those two songs about my mother and other things like that. It’s just progressing and telling my story a little bit more than I have been.”

Star on the Rise

Though Keem didn’t mention who the “we” in the studio might be, he has already racked up his fair share of big-name collaborators. The Melodic Blue had features from Travis Scott on “durag activity”, Don Toliver on “cocoa” and, perhaps Keem’s closest collaborator and cousin,  Kendrick Lamar, featured on two tracks, “family ties,” and “range brothers.” The pair released a wild, experimental video for the track, “family ties,” in August, featuring an appearance from Normani. The video now has over 21 million views on Youtube. Though Keem and Kendrick’s music differs in style, they share those “humble beginnings” Keem speaks of and use their musical gifts to tell that story.

Whatever comes next, the 20-year-old Baby Keem shows no signs of slowing down. What would you like to see off of his next project? Let us know by interacting with us on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook

Proud Family Reboot to include Lizzo, Lil Nas X, Normani and More

The Proud Family is finally getting a reboot, with some new and exciting voice actors as guest stars. Some of hip-hop’s biggest names are slated for guest roles, including Lil Nas X, Lizzo, Chance the Rapper, Jaden Smith, and Normani. Keke Palmer and rapper Kareem will also make a few appearances in recurring roles. The new batch of huge talent has fans even more excited for the highly-anticipated return of the beloved Disney Channel show.

Proud Family reboot offers fans a dose of nostalgia

The Proud Family, a witty and humorous animation following Penny Proud and her extended family, first aired on Disney Channel in 2001. For four years, the stellar cast of characters stole fans hearts every Wednesday with a heavenly recipe of laughs, hijinks, and situational drama. Keke Palmer summed it up in an interview with Disney+: “Even though it was on a kids’ network, it still had the right amount of edge for it be accessible to everybody.” The Proud family felt like our family, leaving many viewers awfully proud of Bruce W. Smith’s and Ralph Farquhar’s production.

Same ingredients, but a new mix

Most of the cast– Penny, Oscar, Trudy, and Sugar Mama– will stay the same. The reboot will continue where the original left off with one small exception: Penny is growing up. As she takes on high school, the new series will follow Penny through the challenges of adolescence. In the reboot, “she’s dealing with everything from social media to social causes,” according to Buzzfeed.

It’s been over a decade since the Proud Family said goodbye. But luckily, it won’t be too long before we meet again. According to HuffPost, the reboot is already in production and estimated to air in 2022. For those who are just too hype to wait, check out the full featurette released by Disney+.

Normani Defends Cardi B Against Critics Talking About Her “Wild Side” Cameo

Although Normani and Cardi B are garnering praise for their collaborative record, “Wild Side,” they’re also receiving unnecessary criticism. Cardi B, who announced her pregnancy a month ago, is one person in particular who is being targeted. The reason is because of her nude appearance in the music video. But, Cardi B has refused to let the negativity slide. Instead, she’s clapped back at haters comments.

“Same people that say this sh*t is the same people that didn’t buy sh*t, don’t request on radio, not streaming not adding no value or numbers to the song but opinions on Twitter for a hit tweet cause hating but keeping up with cardi it’s what in,” Cardi tweeted.

In support of her music bud, Normani added her two cents, saying,

“Can’t imagine this record without you. THAT’S THE TWEET.”

She followed this with another paragraph, expressing the challenging work that goes behind the scenes.

“I don’t think you guys understand how harddddd this woman has gone for me,” the singer replied. “You have been a champion for me throughout this whole process, even when I was freaking out the night before releasing. God doesn’t play when it comes to His. we good, sis. [raised hands emoji][praying hands emoji][crown emojijs].”

“Wild Side” is a sensual track that delves into the woman’s intimate needs from their respective beaus. The instrumental takes inspiration from Aaliyah‘s “One In A Million.” This week, it makes a strong debut on Billboards Hot 100 chart, springing its way up to No. 15.

Normani is Finally Back With New Single Featuring Cardi B

Her newest single, “Wild Side”, will be released on July 16.

Normani, multifaceted recording artist and ex ‘Fifth Harmony’ member, started trending with the hashtag ‘Normani is back’ after she deleted all her pictures on Instagram.

Days later, she announced her new single, “Wild Side” featuring Cardi B, getting released tomorrow. She also surprised fans with the cover art of the new song, which spotlights the two wrapped in bundles of luscious hair in the nude.

"<yoastmark

This is Normani’s first single in two years since she dropped “Motivation” in 2019. After an interview with WMagazine, the artist said she was straying away from the “bubblegum-pop” flavor of her last single.

“You guys are going to see Normani in a different light,” Cardi B said of the partnership via her Instagram story. “I feel like this is [her] big comeback and I want you guys to treat it like it’s her birthday. This song is amazing. I’m just so proud of her.”

The song collaboration comes a few months after Normani featured in “WAP”, Cardi B’s chart-topping song and music video

To top it off, it’s the first song Cardi B has featured in, or released herself, since her hit single, “UP”, at the beginning of the year.

It’ll definitely be a single to tune into.
