If you’ve ever wanted to see a meeting of minds in casual wear, look no further. On Wednesday, (December 15) legendary rap mogul Dr. Dre shared a photo of himself on Instagram. Joining him, arm draped around his shoulder, was the near-mythical Sir Paul McCartney. So what’s up with The Mechanic and The Beatle? Oh, just hanging out, as one does.
The Doctor and The Beatle
The two titans appeared to be hanging out on a couch in Dre’s home. Both in casual wear, the two smiled as Dre took a selfie. The caption on the Instagram photo reads: āHere with one of my heroes!! Paul McCartney is cool AF!! Iām chillin with one of the f***ing Beatles!!ā No context given, just two guys hanging out on a Wednesday evening. Posted up with some drinks and a fat stack of records, it’s a boys night at Dre’s place.
Dre at work
It’s unclear if McCartney will be part of Dre’s long-awaited follow-up to 2015’s Compton. Dre himself has been hard at work this year. In the last few months, the 56-year old has collaborated with Eminem and London on Da Track. While there is no word yet a project with London, a snippet of Dre and Eminem’s new track popped up last Monday. Officially a part ofĀ Grand Theft Auto: Online, the video game update will feature the Dre-Eminem track, as well as music by Snoop Dogg, Anderson .Paak, Busta Rhymes, DJ Pooh, and more.
The knight goes hip-hop
McCartney is no stranger to hip-hop royalty. Back in 2015, the Beatle was featured on Kanye West’s single “Only One”, a sweet, barebones track dedicated to West’s mother, Dr. Donda West. At the same time, the knight and Ye joined up the Barbadian National Hero, Rihanna to release the smash hit, “FortyFiveSeconds”. The song peaked at No. 4 on USĀ Billboard Hot 100, reaching number one on numerous international charts.
