Megan Thee Stallion Facing Record Label Issues Ahead Of ‘Traumazine’ Release

Megan Thee Stallion is going at it with her label again due to issues with song leaks & rollout plans. Her new album Traumazine is set to release at midnight (August 12) & should be her last release on 1501 Certified Entertainment. This isn’t the first time Megan expressed discontent with her label, as frictions have lingered for most of her career since fame. Yesterday, August 10th, Meg went on Twitter to reassure fans & clear up some things about her project/situation. Take a look at her initial tweet below:

About Megan’s New Album Traumazine

As mentioned above, Megan is still dropping her new album Traumazine tonight under 1501 Certified Entertainment. This album should be the last on her current contract with the label according to the Texas superstar. Her previous album, Good News, sold over 100,000 units in its first week of release 2 years ago. Traumazine features an 18-song tracklist that includes previously released singles like “Plan B”, “Pressurelicious” & “Sweetest Pie”.

Her new album contains a load of talented guest appearances ranging from her peers & Hip-Hop veterans. Dua Lipa, JhenĂ© Aiko, Rico Nasty, Latto, Key Glock, Pooh Shiesty, Future & more. Which song are you the most excited to stream upon the album’s release later on tonight?

Where Will Meg’s Career Go Next From Here?

Things should hopefully die down between Megan & her label now that this is her last album on her contract. The hot girls are ready for their favorite female artist to finally be out of her troubling label contract. With that being said, there’s a good chance Megan could stay independent & take more control of her career. Alternatively, labels are probably lined up waiting to offer her millions of dollars whenever she departs from 1501 Certified Entertainment. If you were in her position, how would you navigate these choices?

Lil Wop Slams Gucci Mane After Publicly Outing Himself As Bisexual

Since he joined Gucci Mane’s 1017 roster a few years ago, Atlanta rapper Lil Wop hasn’t found much success. Gucci signed Pooh Shiesty, Foogiano, Enchanting, Big Scarr, and others before taking the artist off its roster. Lil Wop is pushing back against such allegations by telling his fans that he chose to leave.

Two weeks after publicly announcing his bisexuality in a belly-baring crop top photo on Instagram, Lil Wop returns to the conversation, calling Gucci Mane a “weirdo” on Twitter.

His remarks regarding his former label boss are surprising. Particularly since Wop also has an ice cream cone tattooed on his face, just like Gucci. In addition to their arrival, Lil Wop announces to his fans that he is a member of the LGBTQIA2+ community.

“I’m Bisexual I Like Guys & Girls,” said Wop before telling fans he wasn’t hacked.

An Overview Of ‘1017’: Lil Wop Former Record Label

“1017” comes from Gucci’s grandfather’s home in Bessemer, AL — 1017 First Avenue, to be precise. Below is a quote from Gucci describing his home.

“Rotating cast of family characters who could be staying there at any time” from The Autobiography of Gucci Mane.

Similarly, in the memoir, Wop discusses how Young Thug, PeeWee Longway, and Young Scooter hang out there as well. “The Brick Factory was some hippie commune shit. Outlaws playing by our own set of rules,” he says. “A tale of true American counterculture.”

Gucci’s cease-and-desist letter transformed into an invitation to star in their 2020 Gucci Cruise campaign. Which certainly marked the end of the “outlaw” era.  As a result of his release from prison in 2016, the 1017 Empire underwent a few rebrandings. In partnership with Alamo/Empire Music, he started 1017 Eskimo. Which housed artists such as Hoodrich Pablo Juan, Asian Doll, and Lil Wop. Now he has rebranded as 1017 Global Music aka the New 1017. Through a newly forged partnership with Atlantic Music, the streets of the South can now access the radio airwaves.

Jack Harlow and Pooh Sheisty Team Up in “SUVs (Black on Black)”

Jack Harlow and Pooh Sheisty came together for the collab nobody expected, but everybody needed

When two of the most commonly heard names in rap music right now come together, there’s no way the song will flop. This was once again proven when Jack Harlow and Pooh Sheisty linked in the studio. “SUVs (Black on Black)” is the latest single from the two, where they collaborated with their unique and individual flows. Nobody expected the duo, but it did not fail to disappoint. The song and beat gave off strong Kodak Black vibes.

“You f**k with Harlow, I send hollow bullets just like a quarterback”

The song features both artists and their respective flows, on a beat that fits both of their musical styles. They took turns spitting bars at a fast pace, and together the two rappers made a good fit. The cover art features both artists standing in front of all black SUVs under street lights, with each artist painted in the fashion that represents them best. Nobody expected the Jack Harlow and Pooh Sheisty collaboration. Following “Industry Baby,” Jack seems to be on a legendary collaboration streak. Once again, everyone was happy to see Harlow collab with yet another unique and talented rapper. We can’t wait to see who he surprises us with next!

Feds using pictures on Instagram to indict Pooh Shiesty

The indictment of Pooh Shiesty based on evidence from Instagram posts

Pooh Shiesty got indicted by the feds. The rapper is currently in federal custody. His court date in Miami-Dade state court is on July 1st. Shiesty had allegedly participated in the shooting and robbery at the Landon Hotel back in October 2020. According to a report, the rapper and two other men (Bobby Brown and Jayden Darosa) set a meeting to buy marijuana and shoes, eventually turning into a shootout. At some point, the rapper was also freed on bail but later retaken in custody. The reason was a non-related charge of shooting a guard.

What gave federal agents evidence to indict are Darosa’s Instagram posts. According to Billboard, they show photos of him holding a Draco used by Pooh Shiesty in the shooting. Another evidence in the investigation was a post of Shiesty a couple of days before the shooting, which captured “several long rifles and plethora of $100.00 bills.” One of the pictures had a Louis Vuitton bag stuffed with around $40,000 in cash and the rented McLaren that fled the shootout scene.

Shiesty’s lawyer Saam Zangeneh told Herald they “have been in communication with the U.S. Attorney’s Office” and “believe they…are likely to file federal charges.” They also pointed out that the current situation “doesn’t change our position as to his 100 percent innocence.”

Gucci Mane Drops New Music Video with Pooh Sheisty

Gucci Mane and Pooh Sheisty linked up to give us the “Like 34 & 8” music video.

On Thursday, Gucci Mane surprised his fans with a fresh music video for his new track “Like 34 & 8.” The song was released in anticipation of Guwop’s new album Ice Daddy, which is set to release on June 18. Additionally, the video features Pooh Sheisty. Sheisty recently appeared in court after he was arrested for firing a gun in a nightclub. In the video, we see Gucci with Pooh Sheisty spitting bars and flexing their styles. The rappers have a close relationship, and they make sure their listeners know in this song.

“Shiesty, that’s my Kobe Bryant, ain’t no way I’m tradin’ the man.”

This is not the first time Pooh Sheisty and Gucci Mane have linked on a track. Last year, Gucci released the music video for “Still Remember,” which featured him and Pooh Sheisty once again. The pairing is not new, and their collab on “Like 34 & 8” shows that their relationship is strong as ever. The “Like 34 & 8” video features the pair wearing matching jerseys with their names and respective numbers on the back.

“Yeah, I be rappin’, but still a kid in the backseat without no jewelry”

On this track, we get both rappers in their element, giving their respective flows. Gucci flexes his chains and jewelry, and Pooh Sheisty films his verse while holding bands in his hand. The duo wants their listeners and viewers to see the success they have and the trenches they came from to get there. Pooh and Gucci are not new to the game or working together, and the “Like 34 & 8” video shows how proud the duo is of their respective success.

Pooh Sheisty Arrested in Connection with Miami Club Shooting

Pooh Sheisty turned himself in on Tuesday in his connection with a club shooting that occurred on May 30.

Lontrell Williams, Jr., better known as the Tennessee rapper Pooh Sheisty, was arrested on Tuesday. This came after he was in connection with the shooting of a security guard at a nightclub in Miami Beach, FL, during Memorial Day weekend. This arrest came after Williams surrendered to a warrant on his arrest. Williams was in custody this week on charges of aggravated battery with a firearm.

The shooting occurred when a person in the club allegedly attempted to take and distribute money that belonged to Williams, knocking it out of Williams’ back pocket. People scrambled to obtain the money that was allegedly on the ground. This prompted Williams to reach for his firearm, which he fired towards the ground.

Williams appeared in court this morning. His attorney Bradford Cohen claimed the shooting was a result of an accidental discharge, following a shot from Williams’ gun that ricocheted off the ground. “Either one of the security guards or an employee of the club was struck in his ankle. Certainly [evidence] doesn’t show any intent to hurt that individual.”

The judge ruled that Williams cannot return to the King of Diamonds club where the shooting took place. She also issued a restraining order to protect the victim. Williams received a charge of a $10,000 bond with no further charges.
