Polo G Arrest Footage Surfaces, Tells Officers They’re ‘Broke’

Popular Chicago rapper Polo G’s 2021 arrest footage has surfaced. In it, he told officers that they were “broke.”

Polo G Is Arrested After His Album Release Party In Summer 2021

According to TMZ, the Miami Police Department released the body camera footage on July 7. It shows Polo G shouting while he was in handcuffs. Police arrested him a year ago, in June 2021, after his “The Goat” album release party.

Shortly after he was taken into custody, prosecutors charged the Chicago rapper with resisting an officer without violence. However, they dropped the charges after he completed some anger management classes. The classes entailed a 6-hour anger management course.

The deal was reportedly part of a Pre-Trial Intervention program (PTI) which enables offenders with non-violent offenses to have their charges dropped once they finish these types of programs. Since he never pled guilty, his case was ultimately closed.

The Chicago Rapper Questions Officer In Body Camera Video

In the body cam video of Polo G‘s arrest, he is seen questioning an officer’s career path while in a police cruiser.

“Yo,” the then-22-year-old said. “You broke as hell.”

“Here we go about the broke and the money. Oh my god,” the officer replied.

“I’m just sayin’, do you [have] $10,000 in your bank account right now?” Polo G asked. “I’m just sayin’, bro. If you die right now, what can you give your kids? If you die right now, what could you give the lady that you in bed with? What could you give to your mama? Have you ever bought yo’ mama anything? Did you buy yo’ mama a car? Did you buy yo’ mama a house? I did that.”

The officer responded saying, “Good for you, bro. I’m glad you did that… I would love to do that one day.”

“You would love to do it, but you never will,” Polo G continued before telling the man that he could’ve become anything else, but he chose to become a cop.

Meanwhile, Polo G Recently Dropped His Latest Song

The rapper dropped his single “Distraction” a month ago, on June 3.

YNW Melly Loses Phone Privileges But Still In “High Spirits”

On April 17, Jamell Demons ( a.k.a YNW Melly) took to Instagram to inform his 3.8 million followers that he lost his phone privileges.

Melly went on to say that “I am no longer able to call or have video visitation, that is the reason why no one has received any calls from me.”

The reason why Demons lost phone privileges has not been released. Despite this, he states that he is still in “high spirits” before ending his post by wishing everyone a Happy Easter.

Losing his phone privileges comes less than a week after the judge made the decision to allow photos of Demons’ tattoos to be submitted as evidence. The prosecutors are hoping that his tattoos will help prove gang affiliation.

What We Know So Far About Melly’s Case

In October 2018 YNW crew members Anthony Williams (a.k.a YNW Sakchaser) and Christopher Thomas Jr. (a.k.a YNW Juvy) were shot and killed in Miramar, Florida.

Cortlen Henry (a.k.a YNW Bortlen) drove the wounded to Miramar Hospital where they were pronounced dead.

The crime scene looked like a drive-by but the Miramar Police have reason to believe that this was staged.

The autopsy report showed that Williams and Thomas were most likely shot from inside the car.

During the investigation, Henry and Demons’ phone records showed them being at the crime scene.

In January 2019, Demons was arrested for violating his parole. He spent a month in jail before being released.

Shortly after being released, Demons and Henry were arrested.

Despite reports, Demons states that he turned himself in on February 13, 2019.

“To all my fans and supporters no I did not get locked up in Washington, but I am turning myself in today I want you guys to know I love you and appreciate every single one of ya’ll”

While there is two witnesses and DNA evidence, Demons pled not guilty in March 2019.

Henry was released and put under house arrest in May 2020. Shortly after, he was found at a strip club.

After investigation it was found that Henry did not commit any other crimes other than violating parole.

In the same month, Henry was put under house arrest for the second time.

From lawsuits made by the families of Willams and Thomas, it became clear that there was issues involving how this group of friends would split the money from group funds.

The jury selection process started two weeks ago on April 4.

The trial is expected to start on March 23.
