Once Upon a Time Los Angeles a band of West Coast legends come together for a one-day festival. Snoop Dogg, Live Nation and Bobby Dee are to hold the Once Upon A Time In LA festival on Dec. 18, 2021. The festival was announced back in June with a lineup including Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Cypress Hill, and more goes down at L.A.’s Exposition Park. The rest of the bill seems to be divided into three subgroups. You’ve got your classic funk and soul stars. On top of that, along with 50 Cent, you have Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Three Six Mafia, rap legends from other regions to make an appearance. The festival lineup also includes names such as Al Green, Blueface, and The Isley Brothers for fans of every generation. Special guests Foos Gone Wild, musicians who double as cholo culture parodists on their Instagram meme page will also appear.

Once upon a time, in a city so divine

A lot of impressive festival lineups have revealed themselves in recent weeks. Last year, a similar event called Lovers & Friends that was also helmed by Snoop and Goldenvoice was set to take place prior to the pandemic. Hopefully there won’t be any issues with this like there were last year. In the meantime, tickets for the Once Upon a Time In LA Festival are available for presale June 25 at 10:00 am PST via ticketmaster.  All tickets start at $19.99 down. Per health regulations details on the festival entry process became available back in early July. All patrons are subject to a full and complete search prior to entry. By purchasing a ticket, patrons agree to submit to a full body pat-down and magnetometer screening before entry. Patrons that refuse to comply with the search policy are subject to refusal of entry into the event.

Dreezy Supports Female Rappers She Believes Are “Slept ON”

Rapper and singer Dreezy has been in the rap game for a minute. She has proven deserving to be here. When she debuted her ‘No Hard Feelings’ (2016) album, it gained popularity. One of her breakout songs was “Close To You” featuring T-Pain. Even though she felt the BET Awards snubbed her, that did not stop Dreezy from dropping more singles and being a part of other great projects. Dreezy knows what it’s like not receiving enough recognition.

The artist took to Twitter and shout out other great female rappers claiming they are not getting enough “mainstream” recognition. In a Tweet, Dreezy says,

“Lyrical Female Rappers appreciation tweet, just cus the ppl sleep. Rapsody. Chika. Lady London. Omeretta. Tierra Whack. No Name. Young MA. Snow Da Product. Dreezy. Add to the list, put somebody on today..”

Dreezy received both negative and positive feedback from her viral tweet. Many of her followers and other’s felt Dreezy was causing a divide. Dreezy decided to place all these claims to rest when she released another tweet saying,

“Yu weird as hell if you tryna turn this into some negative. I’m strictly showing love. I’m out tho.”

However, Snow Tha Product, Tierra Whack, and Lakeyah showed appreciation for Dreezy’s Tweet. Responding to her tweet, Tierra Whack, chimed in saying, “we really like that too! Rocky , Chainz , Joie Kathos, Bri Steves, Jade, Chynna, Lena L, Phresh Princess, Lee Mazin , T Marie, LG #philly.”

Shortly, Snow Tha Product also acknowledged the tweet by saying, “Thank u dreezy! u the shit.” Lastly, Lakeyah replied, “They say real rap dying? We gone keep it alive.”

Thus lately, female emcees have been getting attacked. Even Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion were recklessly scruntized for “WAP.”Let’s not forget Megan Thee Stallion with the Tory Lanez situation.  Recently, the Saweetie and Quavo “breakup” and now rapper Dorough calling out female emcees for a lack of diversity. I stand with Dreezy. In times like this, what’s wrong with female emcees supporting each other?
