Jermaine Dupri Accepts Diddy’s “Hit for Hit” Rap Battle In Atlanta!

Jermaine Dupri has been trying to verse Diddy in a Verzuz battle for a while now, however, the platform has encountered some legal issues but Diddy still makes an offer.

According to HipHop Dx, Swizz Beatz and Timbaland are facing legal battles against Triller over Verzuz, so it’s unknown if we’ll be seeing a return anytime soon. Fans, however, are waiting for major epic label showdowns. Irv Gotti even stated on Drink Champs, that the only label that could match against his own would be Bad Boy Records, although Diddy has another challenge already brewing.

Jermaine Dupri and Diddy “Break The Internet!”

Jermaine Dupri suggested back in 2020 that he and Diddy would “break the internet” if the “Gotta Move On” artist accepted his Verzuz challenge. Diddy clapped back and teased that Dupri didn’t have enough hits. In the meantime, the Bad Boy mogul has been going live on Instagram along with several other artist’s such as Mary J. Blige, Timbaland, and Tory Lanez to discuss modern day R&B, and included in the mix was a surprise of Dupri. Puff said “J.D., if you want that smoke, you can get that smoke anytime,” Dupri, however, responded back, “relax.” Diddy continued to add, “Since we ain’t f*ckin’ around with Verzuz no more since because they f*ckin’ around with our boys, we don’t need to be going against each other. Let’s come together and do that Bad Boy, So So Def in Atlanta… It ain’t no Verzuz, it’s just hit for hit.”

Jermaine Dupri Ready for the smoke!

Dupri accepts Diddy’s “hit for hit” offer and is ready for a time and date. Twitter is also ready and many fans are already placing bets. User @RuncieDan says “will be a good battle but i got JD on this one mainly because he actually makes the beats.” Another User @Simplyyyycee said, “Jermaine Dupree MIGHTTTT spank Diddy lmao I just looked up all his records and shit. He got all usher shit, Mariah Carey shit, Tamia, jagged edge, BOW WOW ass, Janet Jackson, Destiny’s Child.. shit he got Pressure by Ari Lennox… I mean I just don’t know”

Chief Keef Starts New Label, Signs First Artist

Chief Keef has started a new label, 43B, which stands for Forget Everybody. Lil Gnar is the first artist to sign with the new label.  Chief Keef has been in the game for over a decade now and has been independent for most of his career.  He believes he has obtained the knowledge to pass down to up-and-coming artists.  43B is under RBC Records/BMG with Chief Keef’s manager being the head of the label. RBC Records have always worked with drill rappers, so this partnership won’t be anything new for them.

43B’s First Signee

Congrats to Atlanta native, Lil Gnar, on being the first artist signed to 43B!  Lil Gnar is most known for his song “Death Note” and “Drop Top Benz” with Lil Skies.  He just released his project, Die Bout It on May 20.  On the 18-track project, he has guest features from Tory Lanez, Yak Gotti, Trippie Redd, Chief Keef, and a posthumous verse from Lil Keed.  Lil Gnar had a close relationship with Lil Keed as he describes both of their paths to get into the music business on their song, “No Reason”.  The video was just released a few weeks ago as well.  Not only can Lil Gnar rap, but he is very versatile.  He is also known to be a fashion designer as well as a skateboarder.  Chief Keef has some talent on his hands!

Most Influential Rapper?

Chief Keef was trending on Twitter last week in the 2010s debate.  Fans went to the social media platform to debate which rappers was the most influential from 2010-2019.  Of course, Nicki Minaj, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar were at the center of the conversation, but the Chicago native’s name was thrown in there as well.

Fans claim that Chief Keef was head of the drill movement sparking young rappers in New York to adapt the sound.  Chief Keef was very busy in the 2010s.  He released a slew of mixtapes from 2010-2012 before his infamous hit, “I Don’t Like”.  Kanye West and others jumped on it for the remix, which gained Chief Keef more popularity.  In 2012, he released his debut album, “Finally Rich” which included hits like “Love Sosa” and “Hate Bein’ Sober.”  Fans do have a point when mentioning Chief Keef’s name in this debate.  His influence cannot be denied.

Wack 100 Supports Tory Lanez in Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Case

The Cali music exec has yet another red hot take. Wack 100 claims Tory Lanez will be acquitted, and Megan has a secret.

Wack 100 on the trial of the century

Despite the extremely limited amount of info the public has, everyone is talking about Megan vs. Tory. Meg and the Canadian singer have bumped heads endless times since that fateful October 2020 shooting. Megan has vehemently maintained her accusation of Tory being the gunman, which he has denied with equal force. With conflicting stories and vague details, it’s hard to pick a side. Recently, podcaster and socialite Wack 100 gave his 2 cents and alluded to some uncovered secrets.

During a segment on the Wylin Plug podcast earlier this week, (Mar. 24) Wack spoke on the trial and why celebs are unfollowing the “hot girl”.

“Who’s Rihanna’s man? A$AP Rocky. And like myself, A$AP, we know Tory Lanez, we talk to Tory Lanez, we know things that he hasn’t said ’cause he just can’t say, but we know what’s going on with the situation. Now, he know, guess who else know?… These next couple court dates, watch the real come out and watch the cancelation start… Once Tory’s acquitted, you know, it’s an old saying, you may laugh now but we’ll see who laughs the loudest later—you watch that $100 million civil suit come at her for slander.” He said.

The West Coast gossiper is referring to Rihanna recently removing Megan from the SavagexFenty website. Meg has graced the site as an ambassador for quite some time, so the removal seemed a bit strange. ASAP Rocky, being Rih’s boyfriend and baby’s father may have played a part. Apparently, Tory and ASAP are good friends and could’ve exchanged some info the public isn’t privy to. Of course, no one has confirmed anything as of now.

Kelsey holds the key?

He continued, “And then when the slander suit is filed, you watch how many brands back up off her because this man just got found not guilty based upon a bunch of lies that was told and done came out and now she gotta face the fire.”

In addition to making these allegations, Wack brought up Drake and Rihanna unfollowing Meg on Instagram.

The conversation eventually led to more details of the shooting. It was alleged that the Houston rappers ex BFF Kelsey had her DNA found on the firearm. Another claim made during the podcast is Kelsey’s testimony holding the truth Meg doesn’t want to come out. When reflecting on why she would lie about a serious crime, Wack charged it to free publicity. While these claims were presented with confidence, it’s still only hearsay for now.

Truly, this trial has been polarizing. The mysterious shooting has been deeply discussed and dissected by every corner of the net. Thankfully, it’ll be soon revealed which pop star comes out on top. Check out the full podcast below.

Yung Bleu Explains Why He Removed Tory Lanez’ “You’re Mines Still” From Youtube

Yung Bleu explains why he initially took Tory Lanez’s “You’re Mines Still” remix down from YouTube.

Yung Bleu “You’re Mines Still” has proven to be a certified hit, unsurprisingly given that it was part of the so-called “Drake Stimulus Package,” to the point where the rapper openly admitted to securing the quickest bag of his career as a result. With the song giving Bleu more mainstream reach, it also sparked a few remixes and freestyles including one from fellow Canadian Tory Lanez, who previously offered his own take on the track in February.

Unfortunately for Lanez, Yung Bleu wasn’t happy with the remix, especially given some of the backstory.

“Remixes cool but show love ! Y’all n*ggas weird!” he wrote, calling out Tory for a prior snub. “@torylanez I reached out to u on some let’s work sh*t. U never responded that’s cool ! Never gone get mad at that ! but u wanna remix my song and dnt even acknowledge a young n*gga tryna come up. U rap n*ggas be on some hoe sh*t.”

Recently, Bleu spoke with DJ Vlad, who made sure to inquire about the Tory Lanez situation.

“I had hit him up a couple of times, and he never responded,” explained the young melodist. “I know a couple of people in radio who reached out on my behalf, and he never got back to them…Then I see he did a remix of my song and didn’t tag me. So I basically said something about it, cause I needed to start standing up for myself bro.” “I don’t think he meant nothin’ by it, it just honestly slipped his mind,” explains Bleu. “But I don’t know.” When Vlad brings up how Bleu had Tory’s remix video taken down, the singer offers a bit of clarity on the situation. “I actually texted him to put it back up,” he says. “But they never put it back up. After I linked up with him and we did a song together, I told Empire to put it back up. I was cool with it coming back, it just never came back.”

Bleu reveals that the pair were able to work it out amicably,  maintaining that it was never that serious, to begin with. Vlad proceeded to ask about Tory and Megan Thee Stallion’s ongoing situation, but Bleu wasn’t willing to touch on that subject

“I ain’t a judge, so I can’t even say my take,” he explains. “I had so many crazy drunk nights, I can’t even know what happened that night. I can’t really say.”

Tory Lanez wants to break his silence regarding Megan Thee Stallion case

Tory Lanez is ready to speak up… and not in an album. The ‘Chixtape 5’ rapper requested a modification to a court order that prohibits him from speaking about the ongoing criminal investigation regarding an allegation that he shot Megan Thee Stallion last summer. (He was charged with multiple felonies, to which he pleaded not guilty to.

This comes after the ‘Good News’ rapper called him an “abuser“ on Twitter last week, emphasizing  “you shot me.” Megan then accused Lanez’s team of planting stories intended to “create doubt with my story every week and the media eats it up.”

According to legal documents, Tory has asked the court to modify the protection order that prevents him from publicly addressing the ongoing legal battle. The motion argues it is unfair that Megan has repeatedly used her platform to address the case—and share “inflammatory information”—while he is prohibited from doing the same.

Lanez was charged in October with a felony count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, a felony count of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle and for personal use of a firearm. He pled not guilty a month later and faces over 20 years in prison if convicted.

The next court date is set for February 25th.

Tory Lanez Blames Meg Thee Stallion Shooting on Being “Too Drunk”

Tory Lanez Blames Meg Thee Stallion Shooting | FMHipHop.com
Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez

After being shot in the feet on July 12th, Megan Thee Stallion (@theestallion) claimed it was Tory Lanez (@torylanez) who is responsible.

TMZ reported to viewers that Tory, Megan, and a friend of hers were party hopping in Hollywood when the police responded to a call that shots were fired from or around an SUV.

Police identified the vehicle as Tory’s and everyone inside was asked to exit the vehicle slowly. Megan stepped out of the vehicle obviously bleeding and in pain. Tory was arrested for possessing a concealed weapon, but wasn’t charged for the emotional and physical damage he caused Megan that night.

15 hours after the shooting, Megan received a text from Tory apologizing. He never openly comes out to saying that he shot her, but he evidently has deep regrets. What he did say was, “I know u prolly never gone talk to me again, but I genuinely want u to know I’m sorry from the bottom of my heart.” Again he voices his remorse, saying  “None the less shit should have never happened and I can’t change what did. I just feel horrible.”

His only plausible explanation for his actions was that he was “just too drunk.”

Megan Responds to Tory Lanez Allegation

Megan openly spoken about the incident, reporting to her followers how scary the whole situation was and sharing some pretty grisly photos. On her Instagram Live, she publicly called out Tory for lying about that night on the internet. She openly reveals that he was not charged because she never told the police about his involvement, though the L.A. County D.A. is considering charging him with felony assault with a firearm.

She finished her live story by saying “I just want y’all to know a bitch is alive and well and strong as fuck, and ready to get back to my regular programming with my own hot girl shit.”

Megan hasn’t responded to Tory’s apology and it can be assumed that she has no intentions of doing so.

#CherryJuice: Tory Lanez and The Rap Battle Royal

Tory Lanez vs. Don Q vs. Dream Doll

I respect Tory Lanez. It took a singer to make people want to rap again. Beginning the week off, Don Q came at Tory Lanez with “I’m Not Joyner”. Tory Lanez responded with “Don Queen”. In the response to Don Q, Dream Doll caught a stray shot from Tory Lanez. Dream Doll came with a track as well. She came with “On Ya Head”, she savagely came at Tory. Dream Doll said Tory licked her feet through her socks and wanted a 3 some with her and another man.

Tory Lanez Wants Smoke with Dreamville?

Tory Lanez called out Pusha T and J Cole before he battled Don Q. JID responded to Tory Lanez via Instagram Live. The next two that will rap will be them too. I might like Tory over JID. JID is nice but he sounds way too much like Kendrick Lamar. A lot of people like myself can’t get past that. I don’t think the other label members would get it with Tory Lanez.

How Do We Stop Tory Lanez?

The fact that everyone goes first against Tory is to his benefit. Joyner Lucas and Don Q rap better than Tory Lanez. Both of them didn’t go hard enough at Lanez. They gave us great lyrical content but Lanez took jabs at them.  Dream Doll had the best rebuttal. She came at Lanez. Dream Doll didn’t try to out bar him unlike Joyner and Don Q. Don Q had me too. He used the “Victory” instrumental and I thought it was over for Lanez.

#CherryJuice: Tory Lanez Claims Rap King

Tory Lanez Wants Smoke with Pusha T and J Cole, Says He Not Afraid of Eminem

First of all, fans define Tory Lanez genre of music. He has rapped, done R&B, and reggae tracks. A short time ago, he went toe to toe with Joyner Lucas. Some say Tory Lanez picked up the W.  Later on with the King of R&B debate raging on, Tory Lanez would claim that title as well. Tory Lanez would later get in a situation with Royce Da 5’9( it got squashed) over Twitter. Now Tory Lanez is sending an open invitation to rappers.

Has the King Title became Cliché?

Words that get thrown around to much: King, G.O.A.T( Greatest of All Time), and Classic. I think King has jumped the shark. Anybody can just claim king. I believe Tory Lanez is talented with a diverse sound. He isn’t the king of nothing yet. If he makes some music that is worthy of being king, then I will join in crowning him. J Cole is too busy with the Dreamville album and is about to drop another solo project. Pusha T is working on the follow up to Daytona. Eminem will look corny responding to Tory Lanez.

Who Gave Tory Lanez Smoke?

Mysonne responded to Tory Lanez. He also gave him and Joyner some bars during their battle. Tory didn’t respond to Mysonne that time and I’m not sure he will this time. JR Writer released a diss at Tory Lanez called “Headshot”. Don Q also came at Tory Lanez with a track called “I’m Not Joyner”. Don Q went to Social Media and said that Tory Lanez had 48 hours to respond.

#CherryJuice: Who is the King of RNB Right Now?

Jacquees Says He the King of R&B for This Generation, but Who is the Real King?

So Jacquees, the guy who covered an Ella Mai track that can only be heard on Pornhub, says he is the King of R&B for this generation. FMHipHop, I ask you who is the king of R&B for this generation. Let’s go back 10 years, that would disqualify Usher and R.Kelly. R Kelly has only been in the news for having a criminal fetish for young women. Usher was last in the news for being sued for giving people herpes.

The Nominees are……

Jacquees starts the debate and has to put out more music. Tory Lanez is more of an overall artist. He just had a rap battle with Joyner Lucas. Bryson Tiller needs a better body of work. Trap Soul was a great album. My 3 nominees would be Trey Songz, Miguel, and Chris Brown. Honorable mentions go to Ty Dolla $ign, The Dream, John Legend, and Jeremih. I picked these 3 because they made the best R&B for this generation. Miguel’s Kaleidoscope Dream might be the best R&B of this generation. Trey Songz and Chris Brown have had hit’s over hits for the past decade.

The Winner is……

So I’m taking Chris Brown in this one. Chris Brown has made the best music for this generation. People my age have been listening to him since high school and is relevant to high school kids today. He still tours well and has the best stage presence of any R&B contender. Miguel has dropped hits with Adorn, Coffee, and How Many Drinks. Trey Songz is in the same bracket as Chris Brown with music longevity.
