JT Corrects Herself In A Tweet Regarding Lil Uzi Vert Changes Pronouns From “He’s” To “They”

Recently Lil Uzi Vert took to Instagram to change his pronouns to “they/them.” It’s clear that his long-time girlfriend, city girl member JT, is riding with them. The City Girl rapper quoted a tweet on Wednesday, July, 21st correcting herself referring to Uzi as “They.”

According to Hot New Hip Hop, JT took to Twitter to make a joke about her man Lil Uzi, saying, “My man said all I do is get my nails & lashes done, damn he’s catching on ….who’s hiring?” She then later came back, quoting her tweet to correct herself adding, “THEY*.”

Twitter has mixed reactions toward Uzi’s choice of pronouns.

About a week ago, on July 16th, Uzi dropped a single called “Space Cadet.” The release lead to a surprise that shocked many fans as he changed his pronouns on Instagram to “they/them.” Since the “20 Min” rapper’s transition, Twitter has had mixed reactions towards the change. User @TanukiGirlMichi tweeted “lil uzi put a gem in their forehead and then started using they/them pronouns that mf is actually a steven universe character.” Another user @SoulDrainer_ stated, “Lil uzi fans getting mad at them being nonbinary funny as fuck cause how can u even look at uzi and not immediately know they’re some form of lgbt” @femmetanyl even said, “lil uzi use they/them pronouns now you’ll see a whole wave of young men be more respectful of pronouns fr thank u uzi.”

Lil Uzi Vert Dropping ‘Red & White’ EP Before Next Album

Fans have been awaiting Lil Uzi Vert’s upcoming album “The Pink Tapesince he announced it last summer. According to the Philadelphia native on Instagram, we’ll be getting an EP before the release of his next album titled “Red & White“. The title is an obvious reference to The Pink Tape & should probably be arriving sooner than later this year. His post from yesterday, July 12th, features cover art of old men in a room full of Uzi-themed paintings. Some fans have speculated that this unexpected announcement could mean that the EP will be available as soon as this week. Take a look at the potential cover art below:

Lil Uzi Vert’s Recent Performance Controversy

We’re excited about Uzi’s upcoming release just like everyone else, but not all news about him has been positive recently. During a performance at Wireless Festival earlier this month, the rapper accidentally injured a fan in the crowd with a cellphone he threw into the crowd. While that may sound malicious, it was actually in an attempt to clear the festival stage of phones that the crowd threw at him mid-performance. Luckily, the fan received medical attention & it was very clearly an unintentional mistake.

Expectations For The EP & Album

Lil Uzi Vert is read hot right & keeps putting on stellar performances this year. While he wasn’t able to tour his last album Eternal Atake, there should be no safety regulations preventing Uzi from touring his new music. Additionally, The Pink Tape should sell pretty well based on his previous first-week sales numbers. Eternal Atake sold 288,000 units in its first week & his debut album Luv Is Rage 2 sold 135,000 units in its first week. How much do you think Lil Uzi Vert will be able to sell with The Pink Tape? And who would you like to see him go on tour with? Read more of FM Hip-Hop’s featured articles today.

Fan Sends Up Flare to Uzi “Can you Now Come Thru!”

Raheel Ahmad met Uzi in the mall some years back. On the chance encounter, the fan boldly asked the artist if he could help pay for his college tuition, to which Uzi agreed under conditions.

Ahmad’s Encounter With Uzi

Young Ahmad met Uzi in 2019. Without hesitation asked for the star’s help with his tuition. One thing is sure Ahmad is bold. And he stands as proof; it never hurts to ask. The most anyone can do is say is no.

And without a doubt, Uzi’s answer to Ahmad was surprisingly positive. According to a source, Uzi told the young man,

“90 grand? I could pay for that.”

However, as we know, nothing is without condition. Uzi also wasn’t planning on merely shelling out funds. So, he laid down a few stipulations.

“But this is the thing, though. If I pay for your college tuition, are you gonna finish college or are you gonna bullshit?”

Not only did Ahmad have to provide his word, but show proper proof he legitimately completed his coursework.

Ahmad Proves to Uzi, and The World His Word is Bond

So Ahmad’s response was to show Uzi he could do it. And he did.

In December, Ahmad got on Instagram and extended an invite to his graduation from Temple University with the simple line,

“I did it, Bro!”

And as an aside, Ahmad explains how Uzi’s promise kept him grounded and focused while powering through. In Ahmad’s words,

“You may not know this, Uzi, but the day that we met at King of Prussia mall on August 22nd, 2019, I was not in a good place mentally. But our one-minute interaction changed my life for the better. You have given me a sense of hope and optimism.”

Will Uzi Make Good on His Promise?

But according to sources, the artist has yet to make good on his promise. Ahmad is still waiting for Uzi to uphold his end of the bargain.

Yesterday Ahmad created another post, this time with him donned in graduation hat on the steps of Temple University. His message was also clear,

“I finally graduated bro, I told y’all I don’t bullsh*t. Can you now come thru 😅⁉️”

The World is in Wait

Now the world awaits to see if Uzi will keep his promise to Ahmad.

There has been no response from Uzi yet! Let’s hope he keeps his word as Ahmad certainly kept his. It would be a travesty to set up such hope in someone with no intention of fulfilling a promise made. FM Hip Hop will keep tabs on this story to see the outcome. We hope that the response is positive. Congratulations to Ahmad for showing what will and determination will do!

I was sitting back taking my time on it because it was like, if I get on this shit I really gotta snap. So I sat on the song for a little bit.”.

Isaiah Rashad Releases ‘From The Garden’ Music Video Ft Lil Uzi Vert

Isaiah Rashad and Lil Uzi Vert just released the music video for their latest collaboration from Rashad’s album, The House Is Burning. This is his first release in five years. The single “From The Garden” featuring Lil Uzi. Since it is his first album since 2016’s, The Sun’s Tirade, many consider The House Is Burning is a comeback for the rapper.

The Video

The colorful video shows Isaiah Rashad and Lil Uzi as they stroll through a bustling town late at night. Multiple Isaiahs can be seen walking down the street as people stand in nightclub lines. Police cars patrol the area. Lil Uzi Vert later enters the fray on a four-wheeler for his verse. However it is the music that will make this one a hit.

The Rhymes

The song opens with which opens with an old school sample of horns before launching into a pumping, thrusting beat. Rashad’s flow in “From The Garden’s” is perfectly metered and his provocative rhyme and cadence just behind the beat are just sick! “Came out bussin’, came out puffin’, came out f*ckin’ on your cousin/ I do all these floozies worser than they daddy, but you love her,” Rashad raps in his verse. He deconstructed the song’s origins during a recent interview with Nadeska Alexis for Apple Music.

“From the Garden is the first song I made off the whole album. It had a totally different beat at first and we switched it up ’cause we had what they call demo-itus, so you kinda wanna hear something different.”

Working with Lil Uzi Vert

When asked if he imagined Lil Uzi Vert on the track from the start, he said, “No, not at all. But when we switched the beat I was like, ‘We need something else. This sound’s kinda out of my element”.”

Isaiah Rashad’s debut album, The House Is Burning, entered the Billboard 200 at #7, with nearly 41,000 total album/equivalent units sold. SZA, 6LACK, Smino, and Kenny Beats were among the album’s many high-profile contributors.
