The new docu-series, “The Mysterious Death of Eazy-E,” which explores the enigma surrounding N.W.A. frontman Eazy-E’s death and is headed by WE tv, will premiere next month. Eazy-E, a.k.a. Eric Wright, died March 26, 1995, after being diagnosed with HIV/AIDS at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Eazy was admitted for a “violent cough” and passed away in a relatively quick manner shortly after his diagnosis. The cause of death – AIDS-induced pneumonia – has been widely debated and is the major focal point in the upcoming series.

The never-before-seen footage features Eazy’s daughter, Ebie Wright; her mother, Tracy Jernagin and hip-hop journalist Jasmine Simpkins. The missing element, however, is fellow-bandmate Ice Cube. He, along with Dr Dre and Eazy E’s widow Tomica Wright, held important roles in the making of Straight Outta Compton, the biopic based on N.W.A

According to Ebie (Erin Bria Wright), Ice Cube has apparently been “dodging and ducking” her since she asked him to participate in the documentary.

“The only thing I will say honestly,” Ebie told Too Fab in a recent interview. “Is [that] probably the only person that actually matters to this story, who hasn’t talked on it so far … is Ice Cube.”

There’s been twenty years’ worth of conspiracy theories and whispers of murder when it comes to Eazy’s death. Until now they have mostly been dismissed and left shrouded in mystery. So, come August 12, you can be the judge. Watch the trailer right here.
