‘The Voice Of The Heroes’ goes No.1, but are you surprised?
Can’t say we are! On June 4th, rap’s latest superstar Lil Baby teamed up with Chicago legend Lil Durk, to release ‘The Voice Of The Heroes.’ This release was destined to reach the top of the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart, it was only a matter of time.
The LP hit the charts with an estimated 150,000 album-equivalent units moved, most of which from on-demand streaming services. With a strong 18 song track list, fans have streamed songs from the album over 197 million times already!
This is Lil Baby’s second No. 1 album after last year’s ‘My Turn,’ and Lil Durk’s first ever after a decade long career. Durk came close in 2020 with ‘Just Cause Y’all Waited 2’ and ‘The Voice’ but still needed a hero to save his day. The four features on the album, Travis Scott, Meek Mill, Young Thug and Rod Wave have also achieved No. 1 albums within the past few years.
‘The Voice Of The Heroes’ going No.1 offsets Olivia Rodrigo’s current reign, with her seminal debut ‘Sour,’ having dominated as of lately. While it may certainly go back to the top, we’re happy to see Baby and Durk bask in their deserved glory. With the recent passing of his brother, OTF DTHANG, Durk has been quiet about the success of the album. Hopefully this is raising his spirits, knowing DTHANG would be extremely proud of him.
Congratulations again to the The Voice and The Hero; they’re certainly living up to their nicknames!
