Police are finally making arrests following the 2021 murder of California rapper Vincent Cohran, commonly known as Slim 400.

RIP Slim 400

Slim 400’s murder took place on Dec 8 last year. The incident occurred in a driveway on the 8600 block of 7th Avenue, Inglewood, CA, around 8:00 pm. In a video caught by a front door security cam, a suspect can clearly be seen holding a gun while approaching 400’s vehicle. Gunshots ring out in the clip as the 34-year-old struggles with the gunman. Following the video, Slim 400 went to a nearby hospital, later sadly pronounced dead.

Of course, this devastated fans and loved ones of the “Word is Bond” artist. Sadly, shootings amongst rising stars in the rap world are all too common. However, at least Slim’s supporters can sigh relief knowing his case isn’t going cold.

Police closing in

The Inglewood police arrested a man and a woman by this Thursday regarding the shooting. Although the authorities haven’t revealed the names and faces of this pair, they confirmed to apprehend the couple through a search warrant. Inglewood Law enforcement previously informed TMZ that they’re investigating the murder as “gang-related.”

Currently, there are no further developments on the possibility of this. According to the TMZ report, there’s been an increased police presence in Inglewood to prevent retaliation killings. So hopefully, the peace will prevail for now.

Slim 400 first started rapping at the ripe age of 12. He connected with fellow west coast artists YG and DJ Mustard after signing to Pushaz Ink in 2008. Since then, Slim continuously made a name for himself within the California music scene. Namely, songs like “Call it a Go” and “Brussin” helped Slim 400 rise to fame. He is survived by his daughter Parris and is fondly remembered.
