Black Ink Crew New York’s star, Ceaser Emanuel, is facing criticism after a video of him hitting a dog went viral. VH1 has then fired Ceaser Emanuel for this cruel act. The footage comes from a Ring camera, which is strictly used for security purposes.
In the video, Emanuel repeatedly hits his dog with a folding chair, locks it in a cage, and also pushes it down a hill. Contrary to how it looks, the tattoo artist’s lawyer, Walter Mosley, says he was only trying to break up a fight between his dogs. Ceaser’s response was then too in means of protecting other animals from their wrath.
“Ceaser is an avid dog lover and has many dogs and has had many dogs and other pets in his lifetime. This was an unfortunate situation. I understand it. Several other aggressive dogs were attacking smaller dogs, which probably was a lapse of judgment about how to break it up appropriately.”
“In some ways, what was not seen in that video, was him protecting the smaller dogs. Ceaser just likely didn’t do this in the best way. Additionally, he’s seeking assistance and help to ensure that as a dog owner, he’s properly managing it and understands how to interact more healthily with all types of dogs. But this is certainly a situation he had addressed long ago.”
VH1’s Statement On Firing Ceaser Emanuel
After ending their business relationship with Ceaser, VH1 also released a statement.
It reads, “We have made the decision to cut ties with Ceaser Emanuel from Black Ink Crew New York. Since next season was close to finishing production, this decision will not impact the upcoming season.”
After receiving backlash for this detrimental recording, Ceaser came forward with his side of the story. He said to TMZ,
“I know the footage that everybody saw. It looks crazy. Even me looking at it, it looks crazy. But it’s a moment in time I wish I could take back. I came home. My dogs were attacking each other. And I don’t mean the regular, just play fighting. They were going for each other’s necks, basically trying to kill each other.”
He followed up by saying,
“I don’t know how the footage leaked,” he adds. “I know that was off my Ring camera … I’m a keep it a buck with you. I feel like I’m being set up in some way because the way I’m being portrayed that’s not my character.”
