Who Was inducted Into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame This Year?

Saturday Marked A New Class of Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Inductees

Due to the pandemic, the annual music staple event, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions, the foundation transformed the event to a virtual one. The President and CEO, Joel Peresman, released a statement prior to the Saturday streaming, “While this year’s program will be different than those of years past, we look forward to recognizing their impact on the industry, their fans and the next generation of artists.” 

This year’s inductees stretched over multiple genres and decades and were a diverse collection of artists.  The list included  Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, The Notorious B.I.G., T. Rex,  The Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston

Streamed Saturday night, the event featured a slew of musical performances and celebrity appearances including Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys,  Bruce Springsteen, and Ringo Starr.

One of the largest moments of the night was the induction of Biggie Smalls, the legendary rapped Nostorious B.I.G. The icon was inducted by longtime friend and supporter Diddy, and received tribute from Jay-Z and Nas. He was also honored by his mother Voletta Wallace, daughter Tyanna Wallace, and son C.J. Wallace. Wallace’s son CJ said “Our father was one of the founding fathers of hip-hop. He helped revolutionize what was a young art form for the Black community and the world.”

Despite the pandemic the music community steams on as did one of the largest nights of the year for music history. You can watch moments from the night here.
