#CherryJuice: The Real Cookie Lyons Is Suing "Empire" Creator Lee Daniels

THE REAL LIFE COOKIE IS SUING EMPIRE CREATOR LEE DANIELS

Apparently Cookie Lyon is based on a real life person. According to Page Six, A Detroit woman Sophia Eggleston claims she is the real-life version of “Empire” diva Cookie Lyon, and has filed a $300 million lawsuit against co-creator Lee Daniels and Fox, accusing them of stealing her life story for their hit show. The 53 year old self proclaimed former “drug kingpin” served jail time for manslaughter after placing a hit on someone, which led her to write about her life story and turn it into memoir entitled “The Hidden Hand.” Eggleston says “The whole city’s been telling me Cookie is basically me. Any jury would rule for me — $300 million is a very small price for taking my whole life and stealing it.” Lee Daniels and co-creator\ writer have yet to comment on these claims, however, Strong as said he got the idea of the show after hearing a story about Hip Hop mogul Sean Combs. A lot of similarities that are stated in the suit according to Page Six say “She and Cookie share a taste for mink coats, both had a gay family member.” Too many coincedes there. I guest in Eggleston’s eyes, imitation is not the best form of flatter and she wants to get paid for it.
