Adding to its roster of nostalgia, Parmount+ is bringing back Yo! MTV Raps. The reboot will include live performances, interviews, and more from rising artists to the game and longtime favorites alike. Conceited and DJ Diamond Kuts will host the show and premiere on May 24.
Freddie Gibbs will be the first guest, followed by Latto on May 31. Other featured artists include Saba on June 7, J.I.D on June 14, Shenseea on June 21, Tee Grizzley on June 28, IDK on July 5, Trina on July 12, with Baby Tate, Just Blaze, and Maino set to appear later.
In addition to the revamp, subscribers of Paramount+ will also be releasing 50 episodes from its original running starting Thursday.

The advent of the series was crucial to the rise of rap music worldwide, creating a global passion for the genre and general hip-hop culture, which has since become the most dominant force in mainstream music and pop culture worldwide,” said ViacomCBS in a statement. ViacomCBS is also the parent company of MTV.
The show initially premiered in 1988 and was a staple in the hip-hop community. The series was also the first hip-hop show on MTV and was hosted by Fab 5 Freddy. N.W.A, Run DMC, Public Enemy, LL Cool J, De La Soul, and Ice Cube, to name a few. A Brazilian version had come out later and ran from 1990 to 2005. The U.S. series ended in 1995.
Paramount+ Catalog
Aside from Yo! MTV Raps, Paramount has added many nostalgic favorites. The roster includes Runs House, Celebrity Deathmatch, MTV Cribs, True Life, The Real World, and MTV Unplugged. MTV Unplugged and VH1’s Behind the Music will also get the reboot treatment later this year. Release dates will be announced.
It is great to see music shows like Yo! MTV Raps are making their way back to the silver screen.
