A few nights ago what was seen is what most NFL fans have expected ever since Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence declared his entrance to the 2021 NFL draft. That expectation was him as the No. 1 overall selection by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Lawrence has been the top prospect since before winning the National title in 2019. Naturally, this kind of status in the sports world comes with handfuls of offers and endorsements before players even step foot on the field. However, Lawrence’s next endorsement comes from Blockfolio, which specializes in cryptocurrency that has gained traction over the last couple of years.
The deal, made this past Monday, involves a signing bonus which will be deposited into Lawrence’s Blockfolio account. The deposit will consist of various crypto coins like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Doge. Bitcoin has tripled its worth since early 2020 and is currently exchanging at $53,000 per coin.
Lawrence Adding on to His List of Endorsements
Lawrence already has endorsements with Gatorade, Fanatics, and Adidas. Now he joins other NFL players including Chiefs tight end, Sean Culkin, and Panthers offensive tackle, Russel Okung. Culkin has claimed that he will convert his salary this season into Bitcoin currency. While rookie contracts are nowhere near as lucrative as those of seasoned veterans, early draftees like top-chosen Lawrence are primary targets for big-name endorsements.
