Travis Scott is currently swimming in lawsuits from the Astroworld concert. Third-party lawyers have looked at the incident and think that Scott is probably going to be found not liable.
Travis Scott is currently dealing with over 300 lawsuits that were filed for the Astroworld incident, where ten people had lost their lives. “The resulting catastrophic incident and carnage were easily foreseeable and preventable had the Defendants acted in a reasonably prudent manner in planning a large-scale festival like Astroworld,” the lawsuit read. There seems to be firm confidence he will be not be responsible for the fatalities.
Yahoo Finance had interviewed Bryan Sullivan, an attorney of Early Sullivan Wright Gizer & McRae in Los Angeles. He insinuates it will be hard to place the blame on Scott. There will need to be substantial evidence that Scott incited the violence through direct action. Scott’s reputation, lyrics, past behavior, and legal troubles are all “not enough” to hold up in court. “You can be a very violent person in an area where there was a fight, but not have thrown a punch,” Sullivan also told Yahoo Finance.
“The law requires him to engage in specific conduct that incited the incidents…What did he do at Astroworld that night? That’s the question the courts will be asking,” he continued. “[Scott] likely will be dismissed from the case.” Assuming that no damning allegations crop up, that is. However, that does not mean that this is over for Scott.
Travis Scott’s Future
All in all, scott’s financial responsibility for the tragedy that was Astroworld may subside. However, his reputation is on the line. His endorsements have began to dwindle following the incident, It will be harder for him to make deals with other companies. It will also be more difficult to get venues. The venues that he does get will probably charge more. They will also likely have Scott pay for security. The bumpy road is only just starting for Travis Scott.
