Yo Gotti has pushed back the release date of his upcoming album, CM10. The Memphis rap icon announced the release of it last week. CM10, he said, is a double-disc album with one side titled Free and the other side titled Game. The initial release date for the albumwas November 26th, but according to his Instagram page, he’s changing it. “#CM10….NEW DATE Stay Tuned,” his post’s caption says. It’s safe to say that CM10 is coming soon; however, we don’t know when. So far, there aren’t any more updates about it as of yet.
Gotti’s Previous Album
The previous album announcement is on Yo Gotti’s Instagram page as well. He took to the platform to discuss CM10‘s meaning in detail. “This project was made for a purpose,” the caption under his post says. “It’s called ‘free game’ it’s to give u messages & tell u da experience of a young hustla dat come from da hood but ended up in a position no one expected him to be in.”
He continued with the lengthy post saying, “Him being me, from cutting 2 dollars off a dime bag of weed, from touching 6 figures at 16. I’m from North Memphis, Ridgecrest apts. Damn a lot done changed.” CM10 will include Yo Gotti’s latest single, “For The Record.” The single is about his financial come-up as a rapper and successful businessman. Check out the music video for it below:
Yo Gotti’s album announcement came two months after revealing that he’s the co-owner of the American major league soccer franchise, D.C. United. As a result, he joins a prominent ownership group that includes several wealthy men. Some of these men are Washington D.C.’s business giant Jason Mamo and billionaires Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan. D.C. United is one of the most prestigious franchises in MLS history.
Yo Gotti & Young Dolph
Additionally, rumors are floating around that CM10 is delayed out of respect for Young Dolph. The late rapper was also from Memphis and was Gotti’s long-time rival. His death sent a major shockwave through the hip-hop world. Coincidentally, Yo Gotti revealed the release of CM10 one day before Dolph’s demise. He has not confirmed whether or not the rumors are true.
