Kodak Black could be joining the long list of rappers hitting the big screen. The rapper said in a statement posted to Instagram, “I got movie ideas I wanna pitch to Tyler Perry or 50 Cent!!!”

“If you know me and can see past the internet antics, then you know that I’m really an intellectual young man. So with that being said, I have some really interesting scripts.”

So far, neither filmmaker is responding, though that doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t in the future. Media personality DJ Akademiks, real name Livingston Allen, reposted Kodak’s story to his Instagram page.

Rappers On The Big Screen

This past week, Will Smith became the first rapper to win an Academy Award for Best Actor. Eminem and Three Six Mafia have also won Oscars, though they were for song. Smith isn’t the only rapper to venture into acting. Snoop Dogg, Kid Cudi, Childish Gambino, and most recently, Jack Harlow, has dipped a toe into the film industry. One of the most well-known examples, is Ice Cure. From “Friday” to Are We There Yet?, the West Coast rapper proved he can do it all. Even Kodak’s songs can be heard in “The Fate of The Furious” and “Lovecraft Country.”

Though there aren’t any current acting projects lined up for Kodak, fans might have something to look forward to in the future. In the meantime, the rapper donated money to several charitable causes. He is also a featured artist on Latto’s new album “777” on the song “Bussdown.” The 13-track album dropped March 25. Earlier this year, Kodak dropped his fourth studio album, “Back for Everything.” Whether it’s in the studio, or he’s hinting at prospective film projects on social media, the rapper stays busy.
