Rico Nasty Drops Hard-Hitting “CDG Foams” Video

Rico Nasty is keeping the momentum behind her new album moving with the official music video for “CDG Foams.”

Produced by Kenneth Blume, formerly known as Kenny Beats, the explosive track opens Rico’s nine-song album, RX. From the first beat, “CDG Foams” reunites the Maryland rapper with the aggressive production, unpredictable delivery and wicked sense of humor that helped make her one of hip-hop’s most exciting disruptors.

Rico Nasty wastes no time dunking listeners into the record. She attacks Blume’s pounding production with breathless bars about money, designer fashion, first-class flights and opponents who cannot match her lifestyle or rank. The lyrics are intentionally explicit and confrontational, but they are also packed with the playful comparisons and exaggerated threats that have become signatures of Rico’s writing.

Rico Nasty Flexes Without Forgetting Her Beginning

While “CDG Foams” is filled with luxury references, its central message reaches beyond expensive clothes.

The title nods to the Comme des Garçons Homme Plus x Nike Air Foamposite One—a sneaker that connects high fashion with the streetwear history of Nike’s classic basketball silhouette. For Rico, the shoes become another marker of how far she has traveled without losing the edge that got her there.

“CDG Foams, can’t forget where I came from,” she repeats on the hook.

The line anchors a record otherwise driven by flexes and disrespect. Rico may now fly first class, carry Chanel and live behind a gate, but she is not interested in separating her success from her beginnings. The designer labels have changed. The attitude has not.

That balance has always been part of Rico Nasty’s appeal. Her fashion can move from punk-rock rebellion to high-concept designer pieces, just as her music can jump between abrasive rap, pop, metal and electronic experimentation. “CDG Foams” brings those worlds together without making the combination feel forced.

Rico and Kenneth Blume Reconnect on “RX”

“RX” marks an important reunion between Rico Nasty and Kenneth Blume, who previously produced her 2018 breakout single “Smack a Bitch” and collaborated with her on the 2019 project Anger Management.

Their chemistry remains immediately recognizable. Blume gives Rico a hard, spacious beat capable of holding her oversized personality, while Rico fills every opening with a punchline, vocal switch or unexpected image. Neither artist sounds interested in playing it safe.

The reunion follows Rico’s 2025 rap-rock album, Lethal, and brings her back toward the unruly “sugar trap” sound that first established her name. However, “CDG Foams” does not simply attempt to recreate an earlier era. Rico sounds more successful, more experienced and even more comfortable with the contradictions that make her difficult to categorize.

Released July 24, RX contains nine tracks: “CDG Foams,” “Frenzy,” “Rotation,” “Cupcake,” “Blow Your Nose,” “Runway,” “Butthead,” “Kiss N Make Up” and “Rituals.” The compact project also includes contributions from Dylan Brady of 100 Gecs.

Rico Nasty Is Still in Her Own Lane

“CDG Foams” works because Rico never sounds like she is asking to be recognized as the hardest person in the room. She enters the song already convinced.

Her bars dismiss fake gangsters, online spectators and anyone attempting to play in her face. Even when the lyrics become threatening, Rico’s humor prevents the record from feeling predictable. She is menacing, fashionable and slightly absurd all at once—which is precisely where she tends to perform best. Not to mention her second verse flow when she boast about who she knows would “Shank ya”! Play back worthy four bar sequence for sure.

The official video gives another visual push to the RX era following releases connected to “Cupcake” and “Frenzy.” More than anything, it reinforces the album’s larger message: Rico Nasty remembers exactly what made listeners pay attention in the first place.

She has not forgotten where she came from. She simply arrived at the next destination wearing CDG Foams.
