Cardi B. is once more speaking out about the double standards within the hip-hop industry

This morning, June 25th, The Breakfast Club covered  Cardi’s recent statement on divisive challenges in the hip-hop industry. And trust me, Cardi does not hold back anything. She gives her sentiments straight with no chaser, that “Female rappers are the most disrespected.”

According to the Breakfast club segment, her statements set a spark. Fans were quick to jump in with their support, and that’s when Cardi let it be known she had more to say.  Her sentiment was that what women artists have to put in their work to receive their props is levels above male artists. This inequity rubbed her the wrong way. Charlamagne Tha God cosigned, at least partially. He did agree that women were looked at with a microscopic lens, which hardly seems fair. But he countered, saying male rappers who do the bare minimum do become the butt of the joke.

This issue is a pretty sensitive topic for Cardi

This is not the first time Cardi has spoken about the vast differences in standards, and given her history in these matters, it will not be the last. In 2019, Cardi talked to the press about the differences in criteria for artists with criminal records. In 2020, she spoke to the media about the stark contrast between the pressure on women versus men when delivering fresh content. It seems as if Cardi has a double passion–one being her artistry and the other championing equity in the hip hop industry.

What more can one expect of Cardi?

Cardi B holds her own, as she worked her derriere off to get where she is. She takes no shame in where she came from or has been through to arrive. Almanzar is not just another female rap artist. Cardi is a mother, achiever, and boss, and to add to her credit, she was named the 2020 recipient of Woman of the Year by Billboard Magazine. This was not without flack from her fellow industry mates, but she continues to go into beast mode with her music. The recently released “UP” steadily rose to number 1 on the Billboard 100.  With Bicardi, she earns what she works for, no matter how unfair the standards may seem. She sticks true to her boss hood and doesn’t just move money or make money moves. Cardi’s got a cause; she’s speaking on it! Almanzar is going to do what she’s got to do.
