On March 7, the Atlanta Hawks announced that Gucci Mane, one of the most influential rappers in the world, will perform during the halftime show of their upcoming game against Memphis later this month. Game time is set for 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 26.
Known as the East Atlanta Santa, Gucci Mane holds the record for having the most Top 10 albums on Billboard’s ‘Top Rap Albums’ chart, surpassing all other hip-hop artists. In the autumn of 2016, he famously proposed to his current wife, Keyshia Ka’oir, during a break in the game, making this his first time performing at halftime at an Atlanta Hawks game.
“I’m excited to be performing again for the Hawks halftime show after seven years,” said Gucci Mane. “I can’t wait to perform in front of all the fans and watch the Hawks walk away with a W.”
Atlanta Hawks’ Contributions Extend Far Beyond the Court
Throughout this season, the Hawks have featured live performances by renowned artists, including Alvin Ailey Arts & Education, Domani, T.I., Goodie Mob, Keri Hilson, Jeezy, Marvin Sapp, and NE-YO. Additionally, the team has earned recognition for its efforts to promote social justice and equality. Additionally, they have launched several programs, such as offering a platform for black-owned businesses to showcase their goods and services and partnering with community organizations to provide healthcare and support for underserved populations.
